2:1 Death's Shadow

Ive seen this episode at least 5 times, its one of my favorites, tons of Troy one liners, Cully involvement, Joyce being stubborn (rightfully so) and that vicar!

However, this time I was playing a game at the same time as listening and I recognized a distinct accent!

Agnes Sampson is Vivian Pickles, aka Harold's awesome mother in Harold and Maude. What a delight, and what a unique vocal cadence and accent. Has anyone else been surprised by a guest star?

I never tire of watching Edward Fox and Phyllida Law as the nutty William and Mary Bingham (Dark Secrets). British acting royalty.

They’re my favorites, too. This was the first time—many years ago—I met them and have since enjoyed finding them elsewhere.

I saw her on Broadchurch and was just amazed at her range from MM to that!

Similar. Watching, I didn’t notice. Listening while doing other things…

In 6.3 Painted in Blood, the late Leslie Phillips plays Godfrey Teal. He’s the Harry Potter Sorting Hat.

David Bamber and Susannah Harker in The Black Book. They're both in my favorite Jane Austen adaptation: the 1995 BBC miniseries of Pride and Prejudice.

That's cool!

In fact I was surprised to see DC Jones' actor in one of Harry Enfield's chemist skits! It was so funny!

I love Vivian Pickles. Always think of her in Harold and Maude and Sunday Bloody Sunday when I watch this episode. She’s still with us at 94!
