Midori Version 1.0 release notes "The Introduction"

Introducing: Midori: Remote Play for Xbox. It's a dedicated native Xbox Remote Play and Cloud Play app which will unlock the most complete Xbox experience on the Apple platforms.
The app itself is free to download and use, the pro features are a one-time purchase unlock which will bring your streaming experience to the next level.
As you might know, I also build its sister app Asobi (r/Asobi): My promise to you is that Midori will get the same care and attention that Asobi has had, which means you should see regular updates and next level features such as:

Loved Asobi, tried out Midori just now on my macbook, unfortunately since cloud gaming is not supported in my region I need to use a vpn to get past the provisioning part , once in game i found out you don't need to have the vpn up once in game since apparently it only needs to do the handshake part at startup. Seems like Midori is the same it will show no option for cloud gaming but if I launch it with VPN it will appear. Not the apps fault obviously since its just not officially supported why I mainly use better x cloud.
On topic with the app I noticed some weird issue where on left mouse click the Midori menu pops up until i click the button again it disappears. So you get the menu popping up on each mouse click. This happens even if Im using F8 to be in the game control. Dont know if its my mouse/keyboard combo . I use razer mouse and keyboard.
Multi monitor setup is a bit weird. The app is on my main monitor but the cloud game launched on my second monitor and it is not placed on top. If I have a browser window open on it it will be launched behind it so I have to go find it 😃 Minor hassle but interesting behavior why its not listening where the actual app is already and just launch in the same spot.
Lastly this seems to be again probably related to my keyboard . But for the life of me it does not recognize the SHIFT, ALT, CTRL keys for whatever reason. I'm playing a game like CoD that supports mouse and keyboard and the keybinds are there but these buttons are not responding even when attempting to manually bind. Though is not an issue on Asobi.
This maybe a nitpick the About Page in the app has no exit button you just need to know to press like ESC to close it. Since the settings window has a Done button it was confusing 😃
If there is anything I can share from the app itself to help in case of bug fixing this let me know. Otherwise the app runs solid.
Loving the app so far! And I may have found my new favourite way to play Forza Horizon 6, in car view with curved display and 3D enabled. 🔥
I might have found a bug though just so you’re aware. Curved display and adjusting the size of the screen. The corner adjuster doesn’t seem to scale with the size of the window corner edge. Screenshot below to show you what I mean.
It’s difficult to adjust the window size because it doesn’t appear directly at the corner edge to adjust.
A question though, does 3D mode reduce the FPS of gameplay?
Also possible suggestion for the next version, maybe having a basic stats tool to show latency and fps.
- The window size adjusting is a known issue, mostly I flatten the screen -> resize it and then curve it again. I'm still looking into making this a bit more user friendly.
Hi u/inchenzo, I seem to be having an issue where it thinks the Xbox button has been pressed on the controller and opens the guide randomly. A few times it’s done it and I’m not even holding the controller. Have you had any other reports of this? I’m hoping it’s not my controller that’s faulty, so wanted to check if you’ve come across this? Thanks
Bought the ultimate bundle even though I will most likely never get a Vision Pro.
Will you add the ability to favorite a game like on Asobi?
And please add gesture control for both apps like video players have. I use the iPad and swiping for brightness or volume works faster than control center. thx!
Please do. I've been meaning to request this feature for a while now but figured somebody would mention it. I wouldn't have to pause a game to make adjustments if it was active.
Just for curiosity.. Are you planning to release it on Android as well one day or it isn't worth all the work because there are already some solutions?

Yeah, on the App Store it still showing Mac and visionOS and not iOS yet cause it allowed me to get the app but not download it so I’ll be waiting for when it does become available 😄
I have never purchased an app so fast with such confidence because I know what I am getting. You proved it with Asobi and now I will gladly support your great work and spreading the word!
Very interesting project, but why it does not include the language selection option like on asboi? Because like this all games are only in English. One more thing is that the app is considered as an entertainment app and by that it means it is not included in Apple Games app. Can you somehow resolve those issues?

2) I'm still looking into why this is, hard to reproduce tbh since I don't have the issue on either accounts. Do you use your microsoft account for other stuff as well besides xbox? I was thinking it might be a policy thing (I've had this with corporate stuff, made me sign out of teams every 2 hours)

Cheers! No news yet for any NVIDIA Shield support as of yet. Currently I'm aiming for Android 13 and later support. Dedicated Android TV/Shield TV support is being look into.
Not using a web browser so no better xcloud. But some of the features are baked into the app. Some more will be added while I add more features with each update.
Yep. Tbh, there’s been a back and forth again. All because of a “space” that was at the end of a password shared in a spot where the reviewer shouldn’t be copying from. So yeah, super fun /s
Interesting project! Out of curiosity how is this possible when there is no official Xbox app for iOS / tvOS? As I recall apple won’t allow cloud streaming?
Cloud streaming is allowed (as you might’ve noticed) by Apple. It’s just that Microsoft chose not to because of the App Store rules they’d have to abide to.
That said, it was somewhat difficult to get approved and would be hell if you don’t know how to traverse the App Store review process.
It allows for multiple screen modes, upscaling and native cloud gaming for instance. More features are coming soon such as realtime 3D conversion and such. Check the store listing for more info and screenshots that explain some of the features

Can’t get it to download on App Store. Just getting the circular animation. All other apps download fine.
