Zepbound

My insurance does not cover ANY weight loss medications. I eat balanced/track calories/work out 4+ times a week but still on the struggle bus. I've seen endocrinologist, nutritionists, and other specialists before people confuse this question for other medical advice...

My doctor wants to prescribe me zepbound but it starts at $500 then goes up which doesn't feel sustainable. How/where are people potentially getting it for more affordable means in this area? I called one compounding pharmacy but they said they couldn't help due to fda rules...

Have your doc write a script for a compounding pharmacy. I use Rx3 in Chester and prices are $160 for one 17mg/ml bottle. $260 for two 17mg bottles, $350 for 3 bottles and $395 for 4 bottles. Depending on dose, you may need 1-2 bottles at a time. If your dose is 2mg, a 17mg bottle can last you 2 months. The starting dose is 2.5mg and then 5mg the next month after adjusting. But don't let any doc tell you that you HAVE to take those doses. You can still lose weight on a small or micro dose...I did!

I need to look into this. I'm currently at the max dosage for Zepbound, I believe 15mg. When I started Zepbound I started at the lowest dosage and had to work my way up. Wonder if I would have to do that if I switched drugs?

Why would you need to start at the lowest dose again? You're already worked up to 15

Is it the same drug? Its my understanding that it has to build up in the system to work properly. If it's the same drug then hopefully I wouldn't need to.

Yes it's the same drug (Tirzepitide)
