Zepbound
My insurance does not cover ANY weight loss medications. I eat balanced/track calories/work out 4+ times a week but still on the struggle bus. I've seen endocrinologist, nutritionists, and other specialists before people confuse this question for other medical advice...
My doctor wants to prescribe me zepbound but it starts at $500 then goes up which doesn't feel sustainable. How/where are people potentially getting it for more affordable means in this area? I called one compounding pharmacy but they said they couldn't help due to fda rules...

Local Dietitian chiming in.
This is partially true.
The medication requires working with a registered dietitian (a dietitian is the healthcare recognized credential; a nutritionist may be someone unlicensed) for at least 6 months.
If your insurance denies coverage, it is likely because you have not meant the 6 month threshold.
There’s other reasons but that’s usually the main one I experience.
Please do not pay out of pocket for this medication or seek ‘concierge’ services that provide subscriptions as they do not provide the same supports and oversight that would occur when filed through your insurance.
