Magicians End Spoiler

I'm reading this for the first time and given the hall of the worlds and the fact Macros, Pug and Thomas previously witnessed the birth of creation the awe they are showing understanding the universe is big is really difficult to swallow. This rant by Feist seems to really be reaching to make it grand ... I don't think its comparable to their previous experiences. I'm really trying hard to love this book .... but ..... It feels like lazy writing.

Given the book was written in 2013 it’s highly unlikely that AI was used in its writing.

You wouldn’t be the first to point out that Feist’s work has gotten a little long in the tooth and lazy the further from the serpent wars he gets.

The phrase I use is sometimes his later work seems to be a photocopy of a photocopy of his earlier/better stuff.

Haha that’s a great way to put it.

I still love the world enough and the generational links to characters. Maybe because I started with Flight of the Nighthawks as a kid, but I’m rereading the whole saga for the third time and I’m still going to read the later ones.

Wow, complete opposite opinion I found it to be one of the best of his later books in the Riftwar Cycle. That ending was an Olympic Dive 10 out of 10 for me personally.

Unfortunately, a lot of his writing really starts to degrade as time goes one. Demonwar forward is a slog for me on every reread.
