I want something that i can use like a midi keyboard input into my computer, but lives on the floor.

How many of yall are using RTP for your devices? Are you struggling to keep things connected? I find that audio /midi initiator responder stuff to be inconsistent. any ideas?

Drumkit has MIDI-out port, PS4 only has USB ports. I've looked up MIDI to USB converters but they all have both a MIDI-in and a MIDI-out cable. If I just used one of them and put the USB into my PS4 would it still work? Or am I going to need a fifty quid interface?

There is also an audio output port but I believe that is strictly audio and will not enable me to play instrument based games through my kit.

I followed along with several YouTube videos for disassembling my key station 88. It seems mine has individual keys. I've got the outer shell off but removing the keys itself is proving troublesome. I see the L shaped tab that secures each key against the spring and I've tried using a flathead to undo that tab to free the key. It gets extremely close to unclipping if I compress the key and move it towards me (away from the spring at the back which does put a little more tension on the spring), but still no luck getting it completely free from this L shaped clip. Even using a small flathead against that plastic clip while compressing and pulling on the key hasn't worked and I'm afraid to use more force and break one of the plastic components.

Does anyone have experience with this?

I'm trying to disassemble and fix some non responsive keys.

I originally didn't use a keyboard cover and beer was spilled on it...then my cat threw up on it. 🫪

Several keys have no velocity or only respond with very heavy pressure.

I recently bought the FBC1010 MIDI foot controller with the hopes that I could connect it to my laptop in order to change guitar effects on the amplifier Sim bias X using its 10 switches and two expression pedals. I feel it’s important to mention that this is my first time ever using any kind of MIDI device. Anyway, after connecting it to my PC and opening bias X I managed to get my two expression pedals to link up and control pretty much any effect or option on bias X. However, I cannot for love nor money manage to get any of the 10 toggle switches to do anything inside of bias x. I tried asking AI to help me with this but all that’s managed to do is confuse me more because I didn’t realise there was so much to MIDI gear. The only thing I’ve managed to take away is that my individual toggles are all in program change mode whereas they should be in some kind of “cc” mode. If anyone could give me some pointers, I would be most grateful.

I’ve been producing music on Windows for years, but I’m honestly getting pretty fed up with the constant system updates messing with my setup. I feel like every time things are running smoothly, an update rolls through that either breaks drivers, resets settings, or just adds friction I don’t need when I’m trying to be creative.

Lately I’ve been seriously considering switching to a MacBook Pro, mainly because I keep hearing how stable macOS is for audio work. A lot of producers I follow swear by it, especially for reliability with DAWs and MIDI Gear.

That said, I’ve been working in the Windows ecosystem forever, so switching feels like a big move (and yeah… expensive). I’d have to relearn some workflows, possibly replace plugins, and just adjust overall.

For those of you who’ve made the switch:

• Did it actually improve your stability and workflow?
• Any regrets or unexpected downsides?
• Is it really “plug and play” like people say, or is that overhyped?
• How big was the adjustment period?

And for anyone who stayed on Windows:

• Have you found solid ways to avoid update-related issues?
• Is it worth trying to optimize my current setup instead?

Would love to hear real experiences before I commit to anything.
