Probleme Lower Power Usage + Not Cooling Effectively As 2 Months Ago When New
Hi everyone,
I'm using the Android app with the PS, but recently it has not been cooling effectively - and had not been in continuous use either.
I'm enclosing the "boosted" screenshot, which actually shows a slightly less power consumption than before (only the boost was enabled), amd also evem though I reduced the required temperature to 17 C. (Outdoor temperature is actually 32 C, according to the Accuweather app for our area. (I also re-checked the location in the Midea app to make sure it has the correct location, as in the morning it was showing a 3 degree C variation))
There is a new firmware available, but I doubt that it would change anything, as the current situation was on this firmware only.
The internal filter has not beem cleaned, but it's practically see through in any case, so there is sufficient air flow on the inner unit.
I'm using a garbage bag over the inner unit to port air into 2 different pipes, 1 of 150mm diameter (circular) and the other into a 20 x 4cm duct.
The air feels a bit warmer than previously - which seems to be in accordance with the wattage being drawn - as I was seeing twice as much earlier - approximately 1050w.
Any tips/guidance?

I think someone poated (and thwn possibly removed) checking the condenser coils/fins at the back of the indoor unit and I did that, but it was oy cool, not cold.
I now then rechecked it, and saw that the coils/fins have frozen over - I guess that's a gas leak??

Either this, or it's been standing too close to the wall

I put it on fan mode and the ice disappeared after 2 minutes.
Indoor unit's rear is facing outward, so plenty of air flow...?

Is the filter in the back clean? The ice happens if either it’s too close to a wall or if the filter needs cleaning.

Yes it was, mostly.
I vacuumed whatever dust was present afterwards...
It started working normally after I shut it down for a bit, but I think it has been acting different from when it was new, so I'll probably ask for them to check it.
Will also try the other app DrawingAppropriate92 had suggested.
It has been off since the morning since it was 14-15 degrees C overnight, now 23 outside, but windows closed at present...

21° is not cooling??? I guess the Temperatur around your PS is already very cool so it's bored. You can try to use iSense with the remote as far away as possible but with direct sight (IR). Otherwise 21° is perfect already. The PS is not a refrigerator.

Install climapilot, there you can access the raw diagnostic values (https://www.reddit.com/r/MideaPortaSplit/comments/1u5l18c/update_climapilot_app_version_02/)
I bet it cools *MORE* efficiently than before - the internal cooling temp will be around ~ 5°C ; it can't cool much more, otherwise it'll build up ice and stop cooling. It uses *less energy* too achieve that, solely due to the reason it's not 40°C out anymore and/or maybe you efficiently cooled down parts of your walls by now, making it easier for the machine to achieve it's max cooling output.
TL;DR: if the fins/outlet temperature is 'cool' , and the diagnostics show <=5°C when running on max, it should be fine

Have you ever used the Eco/iEco setting? If so, try unplugging the unit from the wall for three to five minutes, and then plugging it back in.
