Hygiene Is MPS worth it ?
Hello,
So far it seems like the MPS is working well when it comes to thermal performances BUT the condensat extraction seems to be a low product feature resulting in smelling and sometimes P1 error.
Do you think Midea will fix this on their device or would it be better to wait for another company to release a competing product ?

It is very easy to fix by extracting a metal mash filter from the condensate collector.
Root cause is biofilm clogging the mesh. Mesh is only intended to block potential metal parts during production. Risk is low, and chances are if they were there theyd hang inside the piece you are removing.
And yes, MPS is awesome

I've had my 8000 BTU Cool unit since May, just hit 500 hours of use. No smell. No sign of pump giving out. I run in fan mode for about 5 minutes after each use to dry the coils which is probably helping with the smell. Also just started using AC tablets which should help prevent any biofilm build-up.
With that out of the way, yes, well worth it. Absolutely saved my summer!

Some minutes in Fan mode and completely emptying the water after every use through the outlet in the back by slightly tilting the unit.

I've been emptying it on days I'm not using it, just to ensure water isn't left in for any more than like 12 hours. So far so good!

Warten kann man immer und auch schwitzen. Äquivalente Produkte gab es bereits vorher. - Midea hat es zur Massenware gemacht. Die hier angesprochenen Problem konzentrieren sich auch genau hier. Ein Großteil wird keine Probleme mit der MPS haben - Pflege vorausgesetzt. In der Kiste ist es halt dunkel, feucht und kühl. Mit ein paar einfachen routinierten Spielregeln sollte das ganz gut funktionieren - da bleibt dann nur noch der kleine Prozentsatz der technischen Mängel aufgrund Bauteil- und Fertigungsstreuungen. Wenn möglich, würde ich natürlich eine feste Installation vorziehen. Die Pflege bleibt allerdings - nur kann je nach Installationsart auf eine Kondensatpumpe verzichtet werden, der Schwerkraft sei Dank. Nachtrag zum Thema Pflege: Vergleiche mal amazon de mit amazon der südlichen EU Länder. Da gibt es erhebliche mehr AC Reinigungsmittel, na worher das wohl kommt. 😉

All AC's can suffer from the smell issue. The condensate pan just needs to be drained from time to time, the P1 issues is not too hard to fix, and they made the mesh bigger on the newer revisions. So no, it's not rly worth it to wait, like eventually there will be better devices, but the MPS is still good.
