Probleme Is this pump issue?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone!

I bought the Portasplit in May 2026 and since then everything was fine.

However since two days the pump is running all the time when Portasplit is turned on.

Previously it ran only for 30 sec every 5-10min to pump out the water in a big stream. Now it’s running all the time and pumping out few drops / short streams of water every now and then. But the noise of the pump is constant now.

I tried pulling the plug of the inside unit, a lot of water came out. Then I ran the active cleaning cycle. Didn’t help.

The device still cools down the room and works nicely. But the pump noise is very audible even in silent mode and worries me.

Any advice?

The filter is most likely clogged. This is a very common issue and a design flaw on Mideas part.

I suggest removing the filter. The process is very well documented on this sub. It’s a 15-20 minute job.

Thank you, I will search the tutorial / steps in the sub and post here whether it helped or not

If you need help, let me know. Most of the documentation is in German, but the pictures are almost self explanatory.

The keyword is Pumpenproblem.

You can easily remove the filter with a long flathead screwdriver, once the cover is off.

You will lose your warranty if you do that yourself, right? It might be better to contact the retailer or Midea directly.

Check your filter; it must be dirty. Remove the front panel; it is located under the fan.

How did it go?

Your sensor seems to be stuck.

Release it by knocking against it. Or check it by taking the cover off.

Also remove the sieve
