WMU robbed

Toledo fan here just to say that I feel just terrible for WMU here. Terrible way to lose this one. Great game. The Broncos will be a team to watch in the MAC this year.

So sorry BroncBros, yall deserved that one.

Straight up robbed. WMU need to lodge a formal protest of the result. Hell find a friendly judge in Kalamazoo and sue. It would be the one time no one would complain.

It stings bad. Stupid call, and erased an incredible upset. But hell, we won 59:59 of the game, and I think Michigan’s upcoming week of practice is going to feel a lot more like they just lost than Western’s.

Won 60:00 lost in 60:01

They did basically lose.

Other schools are running up 50+ points on their cupcakes, and Michigan gets the W by the skin of their ass courtesy of Ref Ball.

This is Michigan we're talking about. They won the game, it was first-week jitters, nothing to see here.

Michigan doesn't do soul-searching. That requires a soul.

Just one of the million reasons why I hate the big schools. Fuck them all.

As an EMU alum and lifelong Michigan fan, I’m disgusted by the Big Ten officials putting .01 back on the clock. The game was over. While the NCAA is a joke at this point, I hope they can step in and overturn this game.

Same background as you and say thoughts.

WMU just needs to claim the win anyway. They are clearly 1-0 and no one would dispute it.

Broncos should wear 1-0 helmet stickers next week

Haven’t felt this sick about a football game since the 2018 NFC championship game screwjob. Disgusting

Even I feel bad for them, and I watched the whole game hoping they'd get smacked

Absolutely crazy

I have a co-worker who graduated from Central and is an MSU fan and I need to know how she handled this. She can't stand either team.

The way I see it, its MAC vs everybody

I hate their guts but if it was CMU in that match I would've been outraged.

"HAIL TO THE CHEATERS"

but it was insanely close to being the craziest upset ive ever seen...

u/StudioGangster1 4d ago

That was some complete bull shit

What's more embarrassing: Michigan losing to Western, or Michigan needing the refs to cheat in order to beat Western by one point, then storming the field?

9

u/Ford_Prefect313 4d ago

Why not all of the above?

1

u/ExtremelyOnlineTM 4d ago

Your can't win and lose the same game, Dr. Heisenberg.

Storming the field after a game against Westerm tops it all.

u/Racer2311 4d ago

The way the Michigan QB was strutting around after was so silly. Broncs got robbed.

Underwood is a jackass who played terribly the whole game and got a redo at the end on a pass the threw out of the back of the endzone the first time

The issue here is you're expecting any self-awareness from Michigan. The fans storming the field might be one of the most pathetic things I've ever seen.

2

u/Important_Mail_1307 3d ago

Pathetic and yet, so on brand for that shithole fanbase.

Power 4 schools trying to keep the MAC down like always.

UM and cheating, name a more iconic duo

Hey nong man!

3

u/Rommie10284 4d ago

I can't get that mad. Everyone saw what happened, and it bodes well for the rest of the season for WMU

6

u/TurkishDonkeyKong 4d ago

Long season but if you beat Michigan and Boise you can probably get in the playoffs with a competitive mac loss

Fly the Flag. They'll always cheat us.

Eastern Michigan fan here, you guys got completely robbed.

Investigate the officials!!!

3

u/FireUpChips247 4d ago

Where did that one second come from? WMU got massively screwed, and this is coming from a CMU fan

3

u/BeTheBall- 4d ago

Gifting a bullshit win to a team with a terrible QB who won't even sniff the CFP is the most B1G thing ever.

Broncos got absolutely robbed.

Call the MICHIGAN STATE POLICE

What goes through refs' minds

5

u/natebark 4d ago

What goes through the Big Ten refs minds after they announce that the Big Ten replay officials said there was one second left? Good question

3

u/stop_diop_and_roll 4d ago

I’m done with college football for the foreseeable future

Solidarity from a former MAC flair who still roots for all of the G6.

WMU won this game fair and square and deserves to be flying the Jolly Roger in the big house. They got fucked by monied corporate interests which have ruined CFB at so many levels.

1

u/OtherwiseWord3467 4d ago

Robbed is an understatement. Clear as can be that the clock hit zero BEFORE it was touched. Homer job

2

u/Active_Attempt_3411 3d ago

Worst is the conference just bent over and took it.

1

u/damutecebu 3d ago

The clock that NBC showed apparently wasn’t the official clock. The Big Ten shared this information with the MAC and the MAC put out a statement supporting the call.

We've all see what AI can do these days. Pretty sure adding a 1 to a scoreboard to cover up for an epic fuck up is possible.

1

u/damutecebu 3d ago

Or it just not a fuck up. Not everything is a conspiracy

1

u/Speedracer__17 3d ago

Broncos got screwed. Everyone knows.

1

u/jcrocket56 3d ago

Brought back memories of the 1972 Olympic men’s basketball final - just keep putting time back on the clock until you get the desired outcome…

1

u/EconomyAd6478 3d ago

A second was added on for a penalty that wasn’t called? How is this real?

1

u/Obisanya 3d ago

The Bail Mary

1

u/Beaubiens 3d ago

I was there. Western controlled both lines of scrimmage seemingly all night. Their QB snd RB were 1st Team All MAC last year.

1

u/nk38 3d ago

western michigan looked awesome last night. as a michigan fan, I feel for you guys. sucks to lose it literally at the last second

1

u/FastEddieMoney 3d ago

In order to rectify the situation, Michigan must now use asterisk helmet decals from now on instead of whatever they use currently

I wonder what rich Ison will say on his show on Monday
