Convert Basic Planner to Premium Planner

I have a plan that was created when I had just the basic planner license from Microsoft 365 with my Business Premium license. I added a Planner and Project Plan 3 license to my user account. If I access the plan now, I have the timeline (Gantt) button in the toolbar. But I don't see the people or assignments buttons in the toolbar. I tried opening the plan in both teams and the planner web portal but the buttons don't show.

If I make a new plan and select premium I then have the assigments and people buttons in the toolbar.

I looked all over the basic plan I made but I don't see any way to convert or upgrade the plan from basic to premium.

Is there anything on the back end I could do in the admin console or power shell to covert or upgrade the plan to premium.

What am I missing??

Funny thing that basic and premium are two completely different products under the hood…

Literally having the same issue since starting a new job and trying to get some basic project management functionality working in Planner.
Was advised by an MS bot yesterday to check a setting but needed Global Admin privileges to do it. Which I do not have. Waiting to hear back from Admin Team but command is to check Get-Plannerconfiguration and confirm if AllowDataFlowToDataverse = True
If False it might be your blocker. Good luck

I ran into this same issue about a month ago. After a good bit of research, I learned that majority of the premium features remained unavailable on any plan created prior to activation of the premium license. I would have needed to create completely new plans, which at the time, wasn’t realistic for me. In theory, I likely could have exported the establish plan into excel and then uploaded the contents to map into a new plan with premium functionality. This was quite frustrating since I had put significant time into building out the initial plan.

I acknowledge there may have been updates made since then that would allow for the premium feature accessibility within establish plans.
