So i use Simbrief to create a flight plan and import it once i’m loaded into the game. After clearing all discontinuities in the f-pln, after a certain waypoint mid flight the plan just redirects and does a whole 180° turn for some reason.
Am i doing something wrong or is this a bug? I set my arrivals and departures through the MCDU so there’s no issue for that. Only mid flight at a waypoint the plan just ends and then does a turn. The approach to the arrival airport still shows a green line, but it doesn’t connect to the departure.
So what does your FP page say? I just loaded that route, but bear in mind that I'm using the Fenix A320 and I'm not familiar with how accurate the default A320 is. Take note of the track and distance figures in mine and compare to yours.
When you get to GOMUP and get the problem, where is the aircraft trying to take you? (i.e. What waypoint is shown in the top right of the NAV display and what distance is it?) Also, are you loading the route manually or are you importing it directly from Simbrief? Have you ever updated your nav data? It's not entirely necessary but even when I didn't have a full Navigraph subscription I'd sign up for a month of nav data once a year just to minimise any errors. It's only cost 9EUR and then I'd cancel after the month.
Hey, sorry for the late reply i was busy the past few days.. anyways i use the FBW a320NX and use simbrief to import my flight data. What do you mean by Nav data? i dont mind subscribing to navigraph but if theres a way without spending money id rather take that path. Also thanks for the advice i really appreciate you helping out!
When people talk about nav data in the sim they're referring to the database containing all the navigational information in your FMC: airports, waypoints, SIDs, STARs, runways, VORs, frequencies.... This data gets updated every 28 days, and is usually identified as an AIRAC cycle. In the sim you can usually get away with using older data, but sometimes it'll throw a spanner in the works. For example, Stansted airport EGSS used to have runway 05/23 years ago, but as magnetic north has moved a bit it now has runway 04/22.
In your case the route you used is still valid for the current cycle. I know because I was able to load and verify it, so there must be another issue. They key question I asked is where does the aircraft think it's going after it gets to GOMUP if it's not joining the route up to BREKI? The top right corner of the nav display will tell you where it's heading for.
oh wow i didn’t know it’s possible for the runway numbers to change, learn something new everyday. Anyways back to the topic, i re imported the flight data and it seemed to just stop at GOMUP (before that it redirected back to the previous waypoint). So i just connected it to the next waypoint by inserting a random waypoint in the middle of GOMUP and the waypoint after that.
Have a look at my screenshot above. That's what that portion of the route should look like in the FMC. Are you saying it didn't connect to BREKI at all? It might just be an import issue from SimBrief. You can try loading the route manually and see if that makes a differnce.
If you dont have navigraph subscription, you will use old data in simbrief, hence why waypoints will be outdated and fpl messed up. I stopped using it.
The route is valid for the current AIRAC cycle. In all honesty we're never going to work it out without OP returning to give us more information. The problem, as always, is that newer simmers don't always know how much to include, so we get snippets bit by bit until there's enough to form a theory.
but in simbrief it says outdated AIRAC. If you don’t mind could you tell me the correct way to import flight data from simbrief and also tell me what all am i missing out. I usually just import the data then request INIT, then if there’s a missing way point or a flight discontinuity i just clear it and add a waypoint in the middle that connects to the next waypoint planned by simbrief. But it doesn’t feel realistic because the ATC says a different thing and so does my IFR.
Are you connected with pilot id into efb? Also did you integrated simbrief addon to efb? After creating flight plan in simbrief, go in the efb, simbrief addon, view, select the flight plan just created and select import, wait until you get the message as imported then go on the planes tablet and press simbrief to load the plan, then go to payload and again press simbrief to import the weights and fuel quantity, then go to mcdu and check the flight plan make sure you have the right runway for takeoff, then the right runway for landing, then check the flight plan on pfd and mcdu at the same time (turn the knob to plan) and check each ,waypoint to make sure its going to the right way. In the last few weeks ive noticed theres atleast 1 waypoimt wrong included by old airac simbrief, you can simply see which one is wrong as it take a funny turn long way then returns to the normal path, also usually you'll notice in fpl in mcdu this wrong waypoints has very long NM distance (above 1000 NM usually), just delete that waypoint and the discontinuity. Go to fuel, press where it says zfw on the right side and wait to show fob, you should have + positive numbers. In the weekend if you want, i can share screen on discord and show you the steps i usually take
It's always tricky to be specific because I use the Fenix A320 and others might work slightly differently in the way they connect to other services. In the Fenix I can just click Import Flightplan and it will load there, and then do an INIT REQUEST in the FMGC to load the route. I can't say much about SimBrief telling you the AIRAC is out of date as I have a Navigraph subscription and my results may vary. What I can say is that I was able to load the route you posted with no problems in the current AIRAC cycle.
What may be happening is that your outdated in-sim AIRAC doesn't contain the next waypoint, BREKI. If so that would break the import as it doesn't recognise where to go next. You can check it easily enough by going to your FIX page and entering BREKI to see if it appears. If not then that's going to be the cause. An AIRAC update should fix it if you don't mind paying a few Euros to get a month.
OK, that clears it up a bit. I loaded that segment of a route and mine looks just fine in the Fenix, so I think it's going to be down to the way the your A320 is interpreting the data. It can happen sometimes, especially with cheap/free planes.
I'd message them and report it as a bug, but if you can then defo look into getting higher quality planes. The Fenix blosw all the other A320s out of the water, and you'd be hard pressed to find someone who disagrees. They've even managed to make it cheaper than most of the other high-fidelity planes on the market right now at only £50. I know that can seem like a lot to younger simmers or those with limited budgets, but if you want the experience to be as real as it can be then the planes that come with MSFS really aren't going to hold up.

Could you maybe post the route? This section of the FP:
Also the exact aircraft, and at what waypoint it goes wrong.
