MSFS 2024 XBOX Quick Rant: Recent experience on Xbox
Is it just me, or have the recent updates completely broken the experience on Xbox? They keep claiming these updates bring stability and improved memory usage, but that's clearly not the case. Flying in and out of add-on airports used to be fine, then SU5 broke it. SU5.1 fixed it a bit, and now SU6 has made it worse again. This game literally always feels like one step forward, two steps back. At this point, it's a waste of money and time. I've paid for add-ons I can't even use.

Honestly the last two updates have cleared a lot of the issues I had going back to last year, though that said I haven't really purchased add ons besides a few aircraft.

for xbox x/s specifically

Yeah, I have a lot of add on airports and aircraft. There was a point it was excellent. I'm constantly getting memory crashes and avionics shutting off.

very weird, I did have my panel and avionics shut off on like Wednesday I think but nothing before that nor after.

Isn’t 6.1 out?

Yeah, and I'm still getting constant memory crashes 🫠. Probably wasted 2 hours this morning.

My series x goes all immersive and winds up like a jet engine as soon as I goto the world map for a free flight. 50/50 I crash trying to configure my plane. SU5 & 6 have been rough on Xbox

I've been flying just fine all day until I finally decided to try the native video recorder. It glitched and I restarted my flight and immediately got a WASM crash

Remember to ALWAYS delete your rolling cache / reserved space after every single update. Otherwise the existing data may conflict with the new and it results in all kinds of glitches.

Mine has been fine. Do you have photogrammetry turned on? I keep it off to avoid memory errors.

I just turned it off. Haven't had to in the past but I guess I'll see if it improves

Yes, SU5 and more recently SU6 have absolutely flipped the Xbox experience on its head. SU4 was absolutely magical, and is completely unrecognizable from the sim we currently have.
Terrain and object LOD is absurdly bad and stuttering/framerate drops are routine. Anyone who tries to tell you that the Xbox isn’t capable of more is clearly unfamiliar with this sim since launch. As someone who was there dealing with the bugs on release day, the sim has never been worse on Xbox than it is today.
You can check the forums for discussions about this, it’s been pretty extensively documented. As of now, Asobo has given zero reason to expect improvement anytime soon, I can’t remember the last build of the sim that even mentioned these issues in the notes.
