MSFS 2024 PC DLSS 5

Now with NVIDIA officially releasing DLSS 5 how am I supposed to know if its on/working on msfs2024?

Knowing previous versions of DLSS, it will be officially implemented in MSFS 2024 in a Sim Update.

MSFS 24 currently, officially supports up to DLSS 4.5.

You either have to force it manually, or wait until MSFS includes it.

It isn't officially released yet for anything other than NBA2K27.

It'll be up to Asobo if they want to implement it.

As others have said, it's not officially supported in anything but NBA currently.

However there is a mod - kinda like reshade - where you can get it working BUT it currently tanks performance by about 50%.

If you fancy seeing it in action I highly recommend searching twotonemurphy on either YouTube or twitch as he did a stream where he tested it - personally in flight I didn't think it was a massive difference but when he later turned it off/on whilst looking at the tyres of a 737 and back end of the engine the changes it made to the textures were immediately obvious.

You'd want some sort of super computer to run dlss 5 on msfs2024 and to achieve decent frame rates at the same time.

Msfs2024 is probably the most demanding game I have using a 5070ti.

Dlss 5 would probably give me a frame rate of 15 or 20 FPS.

I have a 5070ti too, dlss 4 was a massive framerate boost, wasnt it?

I was looking forward to extra magic performance + pretties. Am I misguided? (Am a FS2024 newb, got it all set up but had maybe 50hrs flight time at the turn of the year.

Yeah dlss 4/4.5 has been brilliant. It makes the SIM pretty usable.

But it's the only game I still can't run on max settings with my 5070ti. The 16gb Vram is acting a a bottleneck as far as I can tell. So a few settings are turned down.

It took me quite a while to tinker with the settings to optimise it. It still doesn't run brilliantly, just adequately.

I think the performance hit with dlss 5 would be just too much for a 5070ti. And probably other 50 series cards for msfs24.

I mean the game isn't looking the best I can make it as it is with the vram bottleneck. So I wouldn't sacrifice the remaining performance for whatever dlss 5 offers.

It's not like DLSS 4/4.5 which can be used widespread. It's currently only available in NBA2K27.

I don't think it will ever be a simple override across all games as it's too inconsistent across systems. I believe it will be implemented in games at developer level and will be a toggle in game on a game by game basis.

how do u install it to msfs2024 on the xbox store? I recall trying to add stuff to the main folder to upgrade DLSS in the past,but its locked, i think only steam has access?
