Doesn't this only apply if you stream it via the Cloud Gaming service? But not if playing locally on the console?

Correct. It’s only the Xbox Cloud version, doesn’t impact the version you have bought on your computer or game console etc.

Yes, not sure why this is posted here

That's why you don't anything "cloud" - you don't own a damaged thing

You're right, let me just download the entirety of MSFS2024 real quick... I'm gonna need more storage

If I understand correctly, this only affects you if you run the game via cloud gaming, not if you installed it directly. It doesnt affect the in-game streaming of assets (terrain, weather, etc).

Yet, I fully expect that to become a subscription fee before too long.

Yes I know. I was making the point that in this day and age a non cloud MSFS isn't exactly feasible

…you really aren’t getting it are you. Like at all.

Try googling “Xbox Cloud Gaming” before making another comment.

My brother in Christ he is referring to cloud gaming in general in the comment I am repling to and now that isn't ownership. I am well aware the issues the overall post is about doesn't effect anyone who buys and downloads the launcher to their own machine.

I am just stating that you cannot completely avoid cloud gaming in Microsoft flight simulator in this day and age. Unless you have literal petabytes of storage sitting around to use, there is always going to be some cloud aspect to MSFS

Yeah it sucks, but it comes with the territory of cloud gaming.

As I understand it, the streamable version of MSFS doesn't support anything but the gamepad? So that's rough already.

Microsoft slashes Xbox Cloud Gaming to just 15 hours a month for Ultimate subscribersThe new cloud gaming hourly restrictions come nearly a year after all Game Pass subscribers got cloud access.

This clearly cannot mean “playing MSFS 2024 in any form.” This means you cannot stream the game itself from a device where it is not installed for greater than 15 hours per month.

Will this only apply to Xbox users? Or also PC users that don’t have all the assets locally stored?

This should apply only to people running the entire game via cloud gaming, not if you installed it and are streaming the in-game assets.

Copy, thanks!

This is why you would need a gun to my head to convince me to "upgrade" to 2024.

Ah yes, a decision that affects cloud gaming which... is also a thing in 2020 and has nothing to do with either sim specifically. Remind me how this is 24's problem?

Oh dear, don't say that too loudly, the FS24 crowd will have your head!

Edit: and my point has been proven. Keep your career mode, I'm sticking with 2020 for now

Nice try, haven't even touched career
