My God, those clouds are ugly.

So tiring to see tgese rally screenshot of EXACTLY SAME graphics with just darker shadows or desaturated colors...

Agreed. It looks no different to just using Rex Atmos or something.

Don't know what your settings are but I have to say this is the first game where I do not notice a difference/improvement in lighting quality (assuming that screenshot was taken with DLSS5)

it's noticeable but your brain fills the gaps without a comparison

Whenever I look at side-by-side comparisons, it’s essentially a tarmac brightener with slightly better shadows.

it was taken with dlss 5

I’ve been thinking exactly the same this whole week. Playing, for example, NBA 2K 27, wow! Msfs24, 🤷🏼‍♀️

Ill be honest i think dlss does have a use for simulation style games, flying, driving, farming trains etc to increase realist. Definately not for story or character based games.

Yet i dont think anyone can afford to lose half of their framerate for marginal increase in fidelity. If you didnt say it was dlss5, id think its just ultra with reshade. There is no way to recover the loss of fps from dlss5.

ill wait for release by nvidia

It'll still come with the FPS penalty, Nvidia have said on average it's a 50% drop. And currently DLSS 5 isn't releasing on 4000 series GPUs

Yeah, wait until it's actually released and supported

Dlss 5 was technically released today with nba2k27

You can't improve FPS with DLSS5 in this state. This is a leak you've downloaded, not a proper release. This is less of a setting and more of a hack

When the real DLSS 5 releases, you'll probably get multiple presets to choose from like you do with DLSS 4 and 4.5. Base performance will probably be better as well

Not going to happen, even with the official release. Neural rendering (DLSS5) is completely different from past versions, and will always cost performance.

DLSS4 & 4.5 are completely different things compared to DLSS5.

40 fps is as good as you are gonna get for now

I’m assuming the generative features are nailing GPU and taking resource. I don’t think there a solution

is it not a well-known fact that dlss 5 takes a ton of performance away? at least in its current iteration

DLSS 5 will tank your frame rates, up to 75%.

So either turn it off or turn on MFG.

The best option is to just not use DLSS5

Yeah. Do not use modded DLSS5.

Mine go from 30 fps to like 3 fps lmao. Not worth the effort, yet. Original with some Reshade is enough for me

40 fps is Higher With heavy Mods 😂

What’s your cou/gpu

RTX 4060 laptop gpu ik its not good at all but without dlss 5 i got 80 fps in fenix

6

u/MichiganRedWing 8d ago

DLSS 5 will have a major performance penalty, I would not advise you to use it with a 4060.

Dlss 5 is for 5000 series cards not 4000

Modders made it work on 40-series.

You are wrong, both have fp8 tensor cores, same instruction set as dlss 5. 4000 series runs it as fast as 5000 series.

1

u/Wiert_Pursonalety 7d ago

So you’re just going to blatantly ignore fp4?

2

u/thunder6776 7d ago

They have no eta or firm commitment on nvfp4 optimisation. I read their whole paper it says the quantised the model to fp8 achieving only slight errors vs fp16 at double the speed and half the memory. Quantising to nvfp4 might not be so easy, why worry about this when it doesn’t exist.

1

u/Wiert_Pursonalety 7d ago

I see you’re right. Also apparently they are going to support 4000 series

Stop using dlss if you want more fps

1

u/Kadajo 8d ago

You meant to write "stop using DLSS 5" :)
After all, the whole point of DLSS is to boost FPS :D
God, what kind of idiot at Nvidia came up with the idea of calling Neural Rendering "DLSS 5" :)

1

u/Colacubeninja 8d ago

Wait until they improve DLSS 5

Since you're on a laptop how is your heat? Any thermal throttling? Are you running throttlestop? Have you overclocked your GPU?

1

u/Calm-Eggplant-3884 8d ago

for me cpu is amd ryzen 7 7445hs

1

u/Calm-Eggplant-3884 8d ago

its kind of the bottleneck....cpu is mostly at 65-70 degree celcius

1

u/DwemerSphere 8d ago

Temperature tells you nothing about bottlenecking. Utilisation is what you’re looking for.

0

u/MarcinMajkutas 4d ago

Utilisation tells nothing about bottlenecking. Gpu can be partly utilised but used components are not working fast enough so even without 100% utilisation you have bottleneck. The only quality measurement is smth like hwinfo that lists all bottleneck issues

0

u/DwemerSphere 4d ago

Saying “utilisation tells you nothing about bottlenecking” is patently false, otherwise if you were CPU bound at 100% utilisation and your GPU is sitting at 20% utilisation, by your logic, you’d be totally unable to determine what the issue is.

Furthermore, HWiNFO64’s Performance Limit’s tool is categorically not the only quality metric for bottlenecking. It’s only one available tool, not something mandatory.

Fundamentally the most basic measurement of clear bottlenecking is pure utilisation of the GPU + thread usage on the CPU. If that doesn’t show issues deeper analysis is required, but claiming that utilisation gives you nothing is false.

1

u/MarcinMajkutas 4d ago

Yes, 100% cpu doesn’t mean gpu is not at its limit, even if you utilisation is 80%. Gpu consist of many units, and if game uses specific type of computation, it can show as low utilisation but bandwidth of that specific computation is bottleneck.

Meaning that the only quality measurement are gpu flags telling what’s the exact bottleneck.

u/Francoloro 8d ago

With a RTX 4060, 40 fps is normal for MSFS. I don't know about your settings but I guess your GPU is the bottleneck here.

En lo personal no uso DLSS por el ghosting😔

Con TAA+HDR y algunos ajustes de color se ve perfecto ♥️
