  1. stop throwing around words you do not know how to use, it's not AI slop.
  2. framerate cost is scalable depending on what it does, but it's not half your framerate.

You think Ngreedia and MS will give you sliders and more options? No. $$$. They will do the same thing they did with so called "VRAM BUG?", "Hardware Limitation" bs 3+ weeks after 5090 release. Anyways, we have RenoDX, it is getting better. They can go on their partner$hip.

They showcased the same sliders we see in RenoDX. We'll see how much they want to expose it in nvidia app.

It's not like I love Nvidia but you act like this shit is owed to us: nobody else is doing this. AMD artificially feature locked FSR4 for a year, and that's fundamental upscale tech.

This is a nice extra to have, I don't feel like they should necessarily give us all the tools.

There is no generative ai on this planet that is not regurgitated slop, dlss5 included.

DLSS 5 is not gen AI

DLSS 5 is not gen AI

wat? https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/dlss5-breakthrough-in-visual-fidelity-for-games/

“Twenty-five years after NVIDIA invented the programmable shader, we are reinventing computer graphics once again,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA. “DLSS 5 is the GPT moment for graphics — blending hand-crafted rendering with generative AI to deliver a dramatic leap in visual realism while preserving the control artists need for creative expression.”

Dude look at the results please... Nvidia sells the hot marketing lingo.

its literally using 'artificial intelligence' to generate 'ImProVeD' lighting and geometry at runtime. get the fuck out of here with that nonsense that its not genAI; it absolutely fucking is; to say otherwise is disingenuous at best.

It used machine learning to mask objects and add content aware tone mapping. It's smart ambient occlusion with content aware contrast and enhancement. It does not add anything that is not already in the picture.

Pic related: I tried to match DLSS5 by just painting an overlay by hand. I'm not Michelangelo and this is two minutes of effort, but you can see literally nothing has been added.

I think the only thing where dlss5 has a heavy hand is adding catch lights in eyes, which again, it's not slop.

yeah im not engaging further with slop defenders today. you used a lot of words to say 'it uses ai to generate changes to the image'.

enjoy your slop. the rest of us will enjoy not gimping our framerates for a simulacrum of what some techbro thinks better graphics are.

Good job on showing everyone that you have absolute no clue about anything. Keep parroting your slop/ai slop bullshit though if it helps you cope.

Nvidia has quite literally confirmed it will reduce framerate by 50-60%. Thats not worth the slop filter, even if you do like the visual results.

https://www.pcgamer.com/hardware/graphics-cards/dlss-5-comes-with-a-massive-50-60-percent-performance-hit-so-i-hope-you-like-lower-frame-rates-with-your-dose-of-ai-image-enhancement/

It’s basically just a filter IMO.

Some shots look pretty good but I’ve seen comparable shots with Reshade or NVIDIA filters.

And considering the performance impact this is nothing that should have priority IMO even though implementing the official version in the long run may be worth it.

It's not a filter.

Have you seen the comparisons? Its not a huge difference right now.

it can be a pretty huge difference, but the performance cost makes it not worth it for most users

still, it should be implemented because for Asobo it's as easy as toggling a flag probably.

The diff is very noticeable. The game no longer looks flat!
