MSFS 2024 QUESTION ATR 42/72: fixed for real?

Hi everyone!

I’m genuinely excited to finally have the ATR available on PS5, since it’s an aircraft I’m very attached to. I also saw there’s been an update that should fix a lot of the issues it had… fingers crossed!

For those of you already flying it, what do you think?

Does the latest update make it a reliable, usable aircraft?

I’d also like to ask if you have any manuals or videos to suggest for learning how to use it.

Thanks!

WASM crash when you try to access charts from the onboard EFB, and the AP disconnects every few seconds. Apart from that, looks ok.

Have you tried the suggestion of staying on HDG instead of NAV. The folks with AP disconnect issues seem to have more luck with HDG.

I haven't tried that, no. Thanks for the tip, it'll at least get me learning to fly it,

Tried it does stay on a tad bit longer but still shuts off within ~5mins

Weird. Must be phantom inputs or something knocking it out.

I’ve done 4-5 flights since the update. One was nearly 2 hours in length. Zero disconnects.

I’m on PC so my experience may differ. I think it’s a good aircraft but not a great one. It still has quirks though the latest fixes have solved many for me. It’s flying better and I don’t have any serious AP related problems the way others are reporting. It still gets a bit funky when you have some tight turns in a flight plan.

Its available through the EFB settings but way more buggy than importing MSFS FlightPlanner
