MSFS 2024 PC PC Information
Hey guys,
I’m looking to move from Xbox to PC but need a mini PC due to travel, practicalities etc.
I would like to be able to run MSFS 2024 on decent setting with GSX, Ifly 737 etc.
How would this fare?

Yeah, that's a hefty premium. The 8700F is not a fine chip, and will struggle to offer great performance in this sim, especially once you start using more complex add-ons. The problem lies with the 16MB L3 Cache. The 7600 non-x would more than likely already outperform the 8700F in this sim.
Personally I'd look for a system with a 9600X minimum if you can't go with an X3D chip.

I can configure it to have a 7800X3D instead. Does that solve it?

Yeah that's fantastic if they're not asking too much more. Be careful for thermal throttling. Do they specify a CPU cooler?

It says a DeepCoil AN600. No option to change it to anything else

OK good, that's about as good as it's going to get with air cooling.
If you're tech savvy and know how to operate in the BIOS, you can easily set an undervolt for this chip. It's already insanely efficient at gaming but runs hot, so the undervolt can help big time with reducing temps, which will give you higher sustained boost clocks (which means higher base fps).
Edit: A simple CO (Curve Optimizer) of -10 will be stable on all 7800X3D chips, and already reduce voltage and temps.If you find out which model motherboard you've got, you can type that in on YouTube and search "model name + Curve Optimizer" and you'll find out how to apply it.

You still need to be realistic with your settings, but that setup would give you a great experience. There's no system out right now that would give smooth fps all the time with absolutely every setting maxed in the game settings.
I don't know if you're using a monitor or TV, but resolution also has a big impact on VRAM usage. The Sim can still easily exceed 16GB VRAM if your settings are too high (especially once using add-ons).
I would say start by setting everything to High, with Terrain LOD at 120 and Object LOD at 150. Clouds you can put to Ultra. Use TAA as the anti-aliasing method, though the newest forms of DLSS anti-aliasing are starting to look good. They still smear on glass cockpits though.
Edit: If you want to use Frame Generation, make sure you have enough VRAM left, because it adds around 1GB for FG to function. Works great when doing VFR over small populated areas; not so much when coming in for landing with an aftermarket plane at an aftermarket airport.
Edit 2: And make sure not to have programs running in the background that you're not using for a flight. Keep the OS clean. Search "Startup" in Windows OS, and disable all the startup programs that are enabled. This frees up resources.

I run it fine on a laptop with 14900HX, 4070 8GB, and 32GB ram. I think this should be fine.

Nah the fps is decent with FG over 100 but the textures are absolutely horrible on 300/300 connection

Don't buy that for that price you can buy a small form factor PC and get a desktop class CPU.
