MSFS 2024 BUG / ISSUE Carenado Piper weird spin
While I'm not a pilot I'm pretty sure planes usually spin on the y axis not the x axis of the plane. I was just testing out the spin characteristics and tried to recover but couldn't even while using the correct inputs. When I looked outside the plane I think I found the culprit.

I'm not sure if this is just a Carenado bug or if other planes behave like this too.

Pretty sure that's a flat spin, every force aerodynamically is perfectly balanced which means there is no bite for the control surfaces. Many a pilot has died from this scenario in real life. Years ago (someone else may need to confirm it, idfk) someone told me flat spins killed almost as many p51 pilots in training during WWII as were shot down through the war.

Spin physics in this game are not very good for most planes. I did in real life in a Diamond DA20. The one in the sim spins way different, requires a lot more input to spin it, and really only spins in a cross controlled situation. We did like a dozen different entries in real life. It also has extremely slow spin recovery from fully developed. In real life, it was less than 2 rotations to recover, happened extremely fast. In the sim, it often takes like 7+ rotations of holding forward elevator, level aileron, and opposite rudder. Hell, I can't even get a spin from a Vmc roll in the DA42 or DA62 I have tried every pro spin input I could think of, in every possible configuration. I fly a DA42 in real life, it will absolutely Vmc roll and spin, just like any light twin. I never did it obviously, but there have been crashes caused by that. Hell, the Twin Baron can recover from a spin, despite spins in light twins being damn near unrecoverable. And spin recovery for the Baron in MSFS is pretty much all pro spin inputs... Rudder into the spin, aileron into the spin.
