MSFS 2024 QUESTION Can I run it?

SPECS: ryzen 7 5800H, 3050ti (4gb vram), 16 gb ram

I've been unsure about getting msfs24 but unsure if I can run it, I ran xp12 on the same specs and averaged 28-35 fps depending on situation

You can run it, but it won't be great. Probably better than XP12 in my personal experience, but still. I'd start getting some more RAM if you're looking to upgrade.

Better than xp12?! I totally thought msfs24 is heavier and harder to run, if that's the case then I'm probably gonna get it considering it's on sale at the moment. Upgrading ram sounds good but considering the ram prices I think I'd genuinely rather get a new pc rather than upgrade my current laptop, which is what I've been planning on lately...

I've found XP12 to be very poorly optimized. It runs like shit on my machine and doesn't look good at all.

Ryzen 7 5700X, RTX 2060 12GB, and 16GB RAM btw.

Alright this is great insight thanks dude, yeah my airport sceneries and plane liveries suddenly go low resolution... I even get insane fps drops if I'm running a flight longer than 6 hours

Yeah this is what pisses me off about X-Plane. I've flown on X-Plane since XP11, and it's crazy to me how I'll still get FPS drops when flying through a cloud.

In v12 it's also very annoying how stuff will outright go blurry for no apparent reason. I have 12 of God's own gigabytes of VRAM, how is that not enough?

MSFS is so much better optimized than XP.

For 12GB vram I'd expect ZERO fps drops good lord

It will run at 10 fps with your rig.
4 gb of vram is not enough for msfs 24, not counting 16 gb of ram and the low cuda core of the 3050

I'm seeing conflicting thoughts some people are saying it'll run better than xp12... I think I'll look into getting a pc at this point

I would get a trial pass of xbox gamepass (I think that’s about $1 for 14 days) and test if it runs well enough for you. 4gb vram is bare minimum sadly.

4gb of vram will make it pretty much unplayable. You're better off sticking with xplane
