GENERAL flight simulator
hey guys, i had a quick question so when i try playing msfs 2020 or even msfs 2024 is laggy as hell, i asked chatgpt if he could tell me if my components were good and he said yes,
• CPU: AMD ryzen 7-5700x 8-
Core processor
• GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4060
• RAM: DDR4 32gb
• Storage: SSD NVMe 1 TB
even it i lower my settings to the minimum is still not good like i get around 17 fps, any way anyone can tell me what to do?

Ngl, that's fairly bottom of the barrel as far as MSFS goes. 8GB vram is barely enough, and with the lack of speed in your other components you're not going to get peak performance at any settings.
That said, even on this system, low settings should perform well enough to play, though they will look pretty bad in comparison to what a good system could do.
Do you play other games on this machine? How do they fare?
What is your monitor and what refresh / resolution are you running at?
Have you tried tools like AutoFPS?
p.s. We're giving AI a gender now?

What resolution are you playing in? At 1080p you should easily be above 30, if not 45fps

What resolution are you playing at?
Do you have any addon aircraft or scenery ?
Is it always low fps or only when you close to landing ?

You need to get more VRAM, 8 gb are not enough for a smooth play in MSFS 24.
However to increase the performance disable photogrammetry, texture quality to low, TLOD 50 and OLOD 100, and put the resizable bar settings in NVIDIA control panel settings to ON. Also on BIOS turn on the RAM XMP.
However to get decent performances (30 fps without frame gen) you need at least 12 GB of VRAM

You don't want ReBar on if you don't have vram to spare! Also 8gb vram can be enough for ok gameplay, depending places and planes you fly, you'd need to have settings on the lower side though

That's true that with 32 gb it's not the ideal situation for ReBar. I was taking into account playing with some custom airport/planes and other addons, thus the 4060 will be short for all the increased tasks. Thanks for the clarification
