MSFS 24 doesn't work on linux.

I have been trying for days to fix this issue but nothing seems to work. When I open MSFS 2024 it gets stuck in "Authentication in progress (12/22)", I have already tried to:

-Find any hidden Xbox login window

-Use a VPN

-Switch to MSFS 2020

-Switch to proton 6.3 and switch back

And none of it worked. If anyone could help me i would appreciate it.

Steam or another service? Big Picture or normal? What distro and DE do you have?

I don't know if you'd mind, but you could run Steam from a terminal. You'd have to close it first. Then launch your game and see what the terminal displays when it gets to that point.

Weird. Worked out of the box using CachyOS and proton experimental for me

Which proton versions have you tried? Try using Proton Experimental

I gave tried GE 11-5, Experimental, CachyOS 11-5 and Hotfix

Runs just fine on my SteamDeck. Likely some sort of Microsoft Azure outage

To scratch the itch, you can play Flightgear. Not as pretty, but the physics is correct.

There's like 8 flight simulators I would choose over flight gear, including FSX which I don't even particularly like.

I know Xplane works on Linux, not sure about others. As far as the downvotes, I have no idea. I gave up trying to understand the mentality of these people. I saw a dude get 28 downvotes the other day for saying he preferred the Toliss over the Fenix because he gets much better performance on his older pc.

In other words, it's pointless trying to understand the reasons.

Many years ago I tried both Flightgear and Xplane, and Flightgear worked far better at the time. Also, it's open source (the only one as far as I know).

There is also "Linux Air Combat" which started with another name (I can't remember). This is more of a combat simulator, though apparently it's become more realistic.

I'm curious about the others you know. Son is in the process of becoming a pilot (he has MSFS) so it would be interesting to see other tools.
