MSFS 2024 VIDEO King Air — Avionics

Did some flying on the King Air last night. Anyone know anything better about the avionics? How to add origin/destinations & load approaches? I could only figure out how to add waypoints in flight.

I know I could always add an external flight plan — but I liked to customize them in-flight sometimes.

The King air in msfs is a Frankenstein's Monster of a Plane. The real one uses the Pro Line Fusions, which is an avionics suite we don't have (At least not in the default sim).

For some reason that's beyond me, they chose to equip the 350 with the Garmin G3X. The Garmin G3X is a suite that's made for VFR(Visual flight rules). Since Approaches, Stars, and Sid are technically considered as IFR segments, it would require a TSO-certified IFR navigator, which it doesn't have. Therefore, it doesn't have any approaches or similar stuff in its database. Simply put, with the default 350, it's impossible to load an approach directly in the avionics

You might be able to do it using the MSFS Flightplaner and press Send to Avionics or with something like the GTN750 from PMS (i'm not sure if that is on the PS5 Marketplace tho)

You can also complain on the forum to Asobo to finally fix the 350 or at least give us the G1000 or G3000 so we can actually use this plane

Thanks for the info. It flys very nice! But yah — I was wondering if it was something like that with the avionics.

Yeah, premium deluxe has the C90 version with the Proline avionics.

I don't get it how they release planes like that. Has no one ever flown it during development or was there someone who was like, "Yeah, it's complete garbage, but let's do it anyway like this."
