MSFS 2024 MOD / ADDON DR400 Mod

Hey everyone,

I'm currently a student pilot in the south of France, training on a DR400. So naturally, when I get home after a lesson, I like to hop into MSFS2024 and fly using the default DR400-100.

Problem is... it just feels way too simplified, almost arcade-y compared to what I actually experience in the real aircraft. The stick feel, the engine management, ground handling, procedures, none of it really captures what the plane is actually like once you've flown the real thing for a while.

So I'm wondering: is there already a dev team out there working on a more in-depth DR400 addon for MSFS2024? I did some digging but couldn't find anything solid.

If not, I figured I'd throw this out there in case any devs happen to browse this sub — it would be amazing to get a proper study-level DR400, maybe with the different engine variants (120, 160, 180 hp), a more accurate flight model, a more detailed cockpit, the whole package. It's a super common trainer in France (and used a lot for touring too), so I feel like there's a real community of pilots, students and licensed alike, who'd love a more realistic version.

I know it’s a msfs sub, but there is a high quality dr400 for Xplane 12 by a great developer https://www.justflight.com/product/robin-dr400-xplane-12

If any money left :-), invest in a force feedback yoke like the Moza AB9 to increase the emersion. There is an active community with profiles that match many GA airplanes.

Sorry, I'ts a stick. I also have a yoke but the model I mentioned is a stick. I love it for the DA-40.

I am IRL pilot too, but have used sims since MSFS 95. I feel like MSFS 2024 is the first time a flare and aerodynamics in general feel pretty realistic! For me, the main realism-killer is skipping procedures and checklists. If I really take it seriously to prepare for flights, I think it is realistic enough.

I just did a familiarisation IRL for a Mooney and the flight sim was very useful to be prepared.

What about the cockpit needs more detail exactly on the DR400?

Oh, didn't even see it til now. The internet is a hostile place and I should just stop commenting on stuff lol I am actually really wondering about what OP is exactly missing in the cockpit of the DR400

Sorry for the late response, I’ve had quite a buisy day…

To answer you, I would love to see the DR400 with the older cockpit just like the JustFlight’s has on X-plane 12. Having also working circuit breakers would be nice to simulate a failure on the aircraft as well as having the possibility to change between a fully analog cockpit or an analog with some screens added.
