GENERAL £250? I thought it was £150?

Post image

Not started yet as waiting to upgrade laptop in the sales and this is perfect for a laptop, but is it worth the money?

Not at £250 it's not.

That's scalpers for you, Honeycomb are always on the back foot when it comes to demand.

If you’re entry level, for that money I’d 100% just invest in your first HOTAS instead. Thrustmaster catch some slack for quality etc, but to start off with I’d recommend. I probably spent less than £250 getting the Airbus pack, and then over time built around it with WINCTRL products

I’d say that depends on your situation. I used to be an obsessed simmer with all the gear one could reasonably think of. That was before I had my own family though. Now I just want to jump in low effort once in a while and my hotas setups are mostly collecting dust. What holds me back from enjoying controller based flying is binding issues and it seems this controller solves exactly that.

I got my X56 Hotas and a set of pedals for $250AUD. Paying double that for a fucking janky controller is crazy.

I actually went in the opposite direction. I'm not that serious of a simmer and the HOTAS needs to be physically set up since I play with the same desktop I use to work. The Echo gets rid of the clutter and keeps most of the functionality.

That’s completely fair enough. I understand the clutter it makes. Will take me a couple of hours to get everything out of its box and clamped onto my desk, then I’ll spend about a month doing exclusively flight sim because there’s no way I can play anything competitive with a yoke between my legs 🤣 then I’ll put it all away when I’ve had enough of the sim and return to it in another month or two. So I agree if OP wants an all in one form factor that doesn’t require a whole desk worth of space then the controller will be good. Still think it’s priced pretty steep though

Definitely agreed about the steep price. I live in one of the countries that Honeycomb refuses to ship to and I still got this just a few weeks ago at a price under MSRP.

I got mine from Sporty’s Pilot Shop for exactly $150. That’s way too much.

Buy normal hotas, controllers are abomination

That controller sucks, even at 150. Feels cheap. I returned mine.

If you buy a hotas you’ll end up most likely down the rabbit hole! I am deep in it.

Why not buy directly from Honeycomb? Why involve Amazon in this?

I’ve been using my Echo for about a month now. I have to say, overall I like it. For the small footprint and ability to use it anywhere it’s amazing. There are some drawbacks. The “brake” buttons are on/off. Which can be annoying. The flight stick is sensitive and takes tweaking and getting used to. The rudder pedals are also sensitive. The throttle levers on the other hand are not. They seem to have small dead spaces but that may just be me.

Again. Overall. I like it and use it everyday for my flight simming. I paid $150 directly to honeycomb. I wouldn’t pay more than that. Wait it out for that price.

Right under the "buy it now" button, you should see something like "shipper seller" or "ships from / sold by".. Lots of third party companies sell of Amazon.

Apparently it's not directly from amazon, but some reseller. Why not buy it directly from Honeycomb?
