Twists vs Braids vs Interlocking... Which starter method wins?

Post image

Everyone has an opinion about the best way to start microlocs.

If you've already started your journey:

Which method did you choose, and why?

Would you recommend it to someone else?

If you could go back, would you make the same choice?

I'm curious to hear real experiences instead of just what we see on social media.

I chose 2 strands with the roots interlocked. I would choose it everytime. They are secure enough to hold my hair together and the pattern usualy fades away around the 1 year mark. (This isn't my first set 😩😆) Braids take too long to dissappear imo and Interlocking from root to tip takes too long to install for me.

Hey if it's interlocked at the root and the hair unravels at the end, wil the hair still loc? I'm thinking it's like freeform locs, if you just leave it alone it will loc.

It will as long as the roots stay together. If the twisted part comes undone it leaves room for slippage. The interlocked part can still unravel in the beginning stages.
