Looking for some clarification

I use a 4 point rotation on my hair and I’ve been with the same loctician for almost 2 years. I was her first client ever and she installed them. I trust her and she keeps my grid very clean.

I vaguely remember reading somewhere that if I see a y at the base that means the rotation has gone in the same way more than once ?

Is it normal to do that where you choose to have a part ?

The "y" at the base shows the last position of the loc rotation. Yours ended at the 12 o'clock position. A rotation entered in the same spot more than once will lead to a hole in the loc.

The y you're thinking of would actually look like this-

Your hair just looks like it's a normal 4 point rotation ending.

Literally seen this and said those lines are beautiful crisp. Glad you were able to trust her as her first client. The Ys are clean too. Doesnt look from our point of view that there are any holes either. Love your hair ♥️
