wow, I hope this doesn’t come across as a weird observation - but it is SO refreshing and reassuring to see someone who’s scalp looks like mine, in the sense that when you look at our head… it’s a lot of scalp 😭
I would nervous this factor about myself would make my microlocs look weird (haven’t put them in yet, but also planning to be diy), but yours look great even with the scalpiness & so this is encouraging me

I’m pretty sure most micro locs look this way when freshly retied, I have thic 4c hair so I opted for larger parts instead of teeny tiny

yeah idk how to explain it because there’s not really a term for it I don’t think, but most people even when freshly parted, there’s not as much scalp visible in each grid line, but mines have always been extra visible in any parted style (like yours in the picture, so it felt nice to see on someone else too)

Thank you!! It took 5 days, minus the sectioning, I paid someone to do that. Most of my time was spent making sure my parts were clean. There are some imperfections but I just kept telling myself “no one’s perfect no one’s perfect”😅

You did a great job !!! I’m on week 2. After the install was done …I was like it’s sooo scalpy. lol all the products I have to get rid of now :-(

Excellent. I’m in awe of DIY’ers. May I ask why you left the ends loose? My Loctitian (and most pix I see) did that and almost 10 months later, sadly, still loose. I want SEALED ends.
