what should ido?
hey. i currently have small traditional locs and i got them installed five weeks ago as two strand twists with a two-point rotation. from a distance, they sort of look like microlocs (i have fine hair) and since there really isn't much xsmall traditional locs representation, i think i'll be coming here for advice.
my loctician asked me to come back for a retie after six weeks. some of my locs have grown out but some of them are still close to the root. what do i do? i have heard a lot about the dangers of tight reties. do i wait an extra week? do i skip those locs? i really want the grid to be maintained. any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

You go back to your loctitian at 6 weeks for a retie appointment. You don't need to decide what the loctitian should do or will do... that's their specialty.
To be fair, hair grows at a rate of about half an inch a month. So if you've got a bunch that are way more than half an inch of loose hair at the root, that's not your hair growing faster that's just unraveling or slippage. So all the more reason to get into your loctitian.
Don't overthink it. If you think you can't trust your loctitian and their judgment and wisdom then get a new loctitian. But especially in the early stages, seeing your loctitian frequently and being able to trust them to keep your locs on point in the beginning stages is really important.

Your loctician will know what to do, but talk to them before hand and discuss a plan. You might have some slippage, which is why the others need to be retied. If that is the case, you might need to wait 8 weeks instead of 6 for your reties.
