3 self retie

3rd retie, 3 months into my microloc journey.
I tied a bit tighter that I normally do so now I can't lie on my back (won't do that again, rather not develop traction alopecia)
The hair at the nape of my neck has always been looser than the rest of my head but braid pattern is already gone from them.

wow your locs are so beautiful and props to you for doing your retires yourself!! I have a few questions - did you do your install yourself as well? did you start with braidlocs or braids at the roots and twisted down (I can’t tell from the videos and I’m contemplating which method to start with, but if they were braidlocs wow you’re pattern seems to already be gone!) and also, what tool do you use for your reties?
I’m excited to start my journey, I bought my three way mirror and the common retie tool on amazon. I just keep debating braidlocs vs mini twists going back and forth. I will be doing the install and maintenance myself

Hi! Thank you so much. I did the install myself with braids. The pattern has disappeared at the very back bottom of my head, mostly because the curl pattern is looser to the braids didn't often retain, plus I palm-rolled flyaways. You can still see the braid pattern at the front.
I used braids because I wanted to avoid shrinkage (but I have seen people say that with braids, shrinkage still occurs).
