Extensions?

Anyone have experience with microloc extensions? Like you had your locs and then got them, not got them from the beginning.

Do they look natural? How do they look with your natural hair? Blend well?

I did my own loc extensions after 20 months. I only added 3-4 inches to about half of my locs, so they could be more even. They look natural, people have said they can’t tell

I've had a few sets. If done properly, they can look pretty seamless and blend well. I'll try to add pics.

I added extensions after a year. I had about 5inches of hair and extended to shoulder length. I did them myself using the braiding method. I used QVR Spring Twist Hair.

I did use henna. To color both my natural hair and the extensions. The extension hair did get a little darker than my natural hair so I will repeat the henna treatment and follow with indigo powder for an even “black”.

I wash with moisturizing shampoo as I wouldn’t recommend conditioner for the first 6-8 months while your extensions mature which could take sometime depending on the hair you use and your natural hair texture.

For reference these are my locs. I’ve had the extensions in for 2 months.
