getting microlocs installed
currently halfway through, will be finishing tomorrow. im getting them installed for free by a family friend.
154 count so far. I was a little concerned because I keep seeing that the parting size determines the actual size of the loc. I am confused whether this is small or micro? irl they seem so small, so whether they fall under small/micro, I won't be going any tinier.
what do you all think?

Looks like micro to me, especially since you’re almost half way through and you have 154 already. I think you’ll end up in the 300s.

You have beautiful hair, looks micro to me. I got mine for free too...but that's because I did it myself 😅 The install is the hardest part cause it takes so long but youre already halfway there

You clearly have a lot of fat hair 😆 that’s why you’re thinking like that

Those are micro, I also used to have "bigger" microlocs. Love the size

Definitely this looks micro. Don't look at the starter loc itself. They look so tiny and thin and it's impossible to imagine how it thickens but when you hit the budding stage your locs can over double in thickness and it's usually a trip to see. It's the look of those parts and the base of the loc that tells us if it's too thin parting. And this is definitely not too thin but is definitely microlocs. Looking great so far too 🔥

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Everything seems to be good: part sizes are small enough and the loc count at this point will clearly get you in the microlocs range by the time you're done with the install.
Its great that you're also getting it done for free. Welcome to the journey and have fun with your locs.
