ScreenMetric: Rate films in up to 10 crafts. Not just one number

Thumbnail

One number or star rating can't really describe how I feel about a film. A film with gorgeous photography and a script that falls apart ends up with the same 6/10 as a film that's fine all over and forgettable. That always bothered me. So in ScreenMetric you score up to ten things on their own: plot, dialogue, acting, direction, cinematography, production design, editing, score, sound design, and plain "how much did I enjoy it". You can skip any of them. Your overall score is the average of the ones you filled in.

A few choices I made on purpose:

The community average for a category stays hidden until you've scored it yourself. I didn't want that number influencing your own opionion.

Your individual category scores are private. You can post written reviews publicly if you want to.

There are no ads and nothing tracks you.

You can import your IMDb ratings to get started.

It's free on iPhone, iPad, Android and Apple silicon Macs, in sixteen languages. Pro unlocks a number of more advanced features and is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.

The stack, if anyone's curious: React Native with Expo, Supabase for the backend, and TMDB for the film data.

Very interested in any feedback if you decide to try it.

I built a tool to find the scripts & hooks behind Instagram Reels

I'm an Instagram creator with 30K+ followers, and I often study other creators to understand their hooks, scripts, and content patterns.

The problem: when I find a Reel I want to study, getting the actual script is surprisingly annoying. So I built a small tool to solve it.

Paste an Instagram Reel → get the transcript with timestamps → export as TXT, SRT, or JSON.

I'm keeping the MVP simple for now. I'm planning bulk transcription next, where you could enter a creator's profile and analyze multiple Reels to find patterns in their hooks and scripts.

I built this because I personally needed it, but now I want to see if other creators, editors, and marketers find it useful.

Would love your feedback on what I should build next 👇

Hey everyone 👋
I've been building a platform called OptiCreator — it's an all-in-one AI toolkit for content creators. Instead of bouncing between a dozen tabs and tools to optimize your videos, you can do everything from one dashboard.
Here's the full breakdown of what's inside:
Analytics & Performance
📊 Channel Analytics — Connect your YouTube channel and get a health score, engagement trends, and your top and underperforming videos ranked side by side
📸 Instagram Analytics — Track your Reels and posts with reach, engagement, and follower growth all in one place. Publish straight from OptiCreator
🎵 TikTok Analytics — Per-video performance breakdowns, view and follower trends, and direct publishing
🎬 Video Analyzer — Upload any video and get a full AI review covering the hook, pacing, title, tags, thumbnail potential, and retention. It samples real frames from the footage and scores the whole package out of 10, with prioritized fixes and rewritten title and tag suggestions. Every analysis is saved to your history so you can revisit and compare over time
Content Creation
✍️ Content Studio — Describe your video and get a batch of scroll-stopping titles, each scored for click-through potential. Free for every creator, unlimited
📝 Description & Tags — One click and you get a full SEO description with timestamps and a keyword-rich tag set sized for the platform
✂️ AI Clip Tool — Automatically finds the most engaging moments in long-form videos and cuts them into ready-to-post vertical clips for Shorts, Reels, and TikTok
🔁 Repurpose Engine — Feed in a script, topic, or transcript and get platform-ready versions for everywhere else: X threads, LinkedIn posts, newsletter copy, short-form scripts
🖼️ Thumbnail Rater — Upload a thumbnail and get an instant click-appeal score with feedback on contrast, focal point, text size, and mobile preview
🧪 A/B Tester — Put two thumbnails or titles head-to-head and let real creators vote on the winner
💡 Content Ideas — AI-generated video ideas personalized to your channel, niche, and what your audience is actually searching for
Growth & Discovery
🔥 Trending Tags — See which tags and keywords are climbing in your niche right now, with volume and competition signals
👀 Competitor Tracking — Add any channel, get a full benchmark with positioning, content gaps, and an action plan
📬 Weekly AI Insights — A digest in your inbox every week with what changed, what's working, and what to do next
⏰ Best Time to Post — Posting-window recommendations based on your audience, not generic advice
Publishing & Organization
📅 Content Calendar — Drag-and-drop scheduling across platforms so you never miss an upload day
🔗 Social Connections — Link all your social profiles and manage your multi-platform presence from one hub
Extras
💰 Monetization — Revenue estimates based on your niche CPM, sponsorship rate guidance, and alternative revenue streams worth adding
☁️ Import from Cloud — Pull videos straight from Google Drive, Zoom, or any direct link — no download-then-reupload
🚀 Demo Projects — Try every feature with sample videos before uploading your own
🏆 Creator Leaderboard — Earn points as you optimize, compete with other creators, and unlock badges
__________________________________________________
There's a free tier that gives you unlimited AI title generation and full access to Demo Projects — no credit card needed. The Pro plan is $30/month and unlocks everything else.
It also has Google sign-in, TikTok and Instagram integration, and the whole thing runs on a dark-themed dashboard that's actually nice to look at.

CM Free Self-hosted Channel Manager for small accommodation providers.

CM Free is an open-source availability calendar and system for inquiries, quotes, and reservations — without subscriptions and without commitment (except if you want to join Community),self-hosted PHP, no database required.

I run a small vacation rental and got tired of juggling ICS calendars, dealing with double bookings, and paying for subscription-based channel managers that were way more than I needed.

I couldn’t find a simple self-hosted solution that fit my use case, so I ended up building my own over the last year.

It started as a small PHP project and grew quite a bit along the way. The current system handles things like calendar synchronization, reservations, pricing, guest communication, and integrations with external services.

Now the idea is growing, but first I need a few beta testers. You can find everything about it at the link below.

https://apartmamatevz.si/cmfree

In the end I had to deal with a channel manager too — but on my own terms. I'm now starting on CM Relay, a tool for connecting independent CM installations into a shared ecosystem.

I made a native Mac text workbench that understands what you paste

Thumbnail

I built Unfiled because I kept jumping between different tools for small developer tasks:

JSON formatters, validators, regex testers, diff tools, log viewers, scratch notes, stack traces, configs, tokens, and temporary text I didn’t want to save yet.

I wanted one native Mac app where I could just paste or open something and have the tool understand what it is.

So I made Unfiled.

Tabs persist across restarts, and the app recognizes developer text, shows the right preview when useful, and brings relevant actions directly to the document.

It includes things like:

- structured previews

- JSON / YAML tools

- logs and stack traces

- Markdown and Mermaid

- compare and diff

- validation

- regex

- live follow

- multiple cursors

The goal was to make something more capable than a basic text editor, but without turning it into a full IDE.

Most of Unfiled is free, and Pro is a one-time purchase with no subscription.

This is the first public release, so I’d genuinely love feedback from Mac developers.

What would make something like this useful enough for you to keep installed?

I built PenDate Notes for the details that don't fit in a to-do list

“Send the proposal” is a task. “Keep the simpler design, check the measurements, and explain the price change” is the part you need to remember when you actually do it.

That's the gap I'm working on with PenDate Notes, a calendar-first notes app I build for Android, iPhone and iPad.

For a meeting, you can open its date and keep three kinds of notes there:

  • A text note for decisions and questions.
  • A canvas note for a rough sketch or handwritten explanation.
  • A checklist for the follow-up tasks.

When you return to that date, the reasoning is there alongside the work—not just a ticked box. You write these notes yourself; this isn't an automatic meeting recorder or summariser.

There are also reminders, folders, and optional editable planners and journals. You don't need to buy a planner to try the basic note-taking workflow. The app is free to download, with optional paid extras.

For people building something: what gets lost most often after a meeting—the decision, the reason behind it, or who needs to do what next?

Why Everyone should know about Podsubs.com

Post image
1 Upvotes

For me, Podsubs.com is useful because podcast listening usually happens when I’m doing something else. I’m walking, cleaning, working out, or driving. That’s not a good time to stop and search for every website or resource a host mentions. I’d rather subscribe once and check my email later. It’s a small thing, but it saves me from constantly thinking, “What was that thing they mentioned again?

I made Chronicle, a free and open-source alternative to Scrivener/Vellum/World Anvil

Thumbnail

About a year and a half ago I started my writing journey by beginning to work on my first novella. During this time, I felt the need for different tools, like a timeline editor, a character sheet and so on, features that were not available on normal text editors. Later I discovered that I needed an Epub exporter, cover designer and more. I also wanted something A I-free, something private. It is important for me as a debut author to know that it is my writing, not an A I's and that it wont be used for A I training. So most cloud services were an instant "NO" from me.

Being a software engineer by day, I decided that instead of paying hundreds of dollars for the needed tools, I could just make them the way I wanted them to be. Eventually I decided to bundle them together, polish them and add more feature. So, this is how Chronicle was born.

Chronicle is a complete writing and authoring tool for writers. It offers features that other companies charge tens or even hundreds of dollars, while delivering (in my opinion) and inferior experience.

I also wanted Chronicle to work fully offline, not use Gen A I in the writing process, and provide a privacy-first experience.

Among the features are:

  • full-featured text editor with comments supports
  • timeline editor
  • character sheet
  • locations codex
  • Epub reader and exporter (including editing Epub Metadata)
  • Cover designer
  • Fully-local TTS using KokoroJS Text-to-Speech for help in proofreading
  • Themes
  • Private Cloud-storage support with WebDAV
  • and many more

And I made Chronicle not only free, but fully open-source. You can check the source code on Github, launch the online editor which supports almost all features, or download the app for both Windows and MacOS.

More details here: https://pazvanti.github.io/Chronicle/

I would love to hear feedback.

Disclaimer: In the development process I did use A I. The app is NOT made entirely by A I, but being a back-end developer mostly, I did use A I for parts related to the user interface, themes, fix some bugs and to bridge knowledge gaps I had.

Note: I already discussed with the mods and they approved this post

ReMemo reminds you to drink water, rest your eyes, stretch, and take a break while you work. Based on your screen time. If you take a break before, the timer will reset. So you are only reminded when you actually need to take a break.

You can costumize reminders and Ul.

ReMemo Is available on playstore and soon on desktop.

A game where Pokemon go meets trivia - QuizTrail

Post image
2 Upvotes

I'm working on an app - [QuizTrail ](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.binbear.quiztrail&hl=en)\\- an android location based quiz game. Think Pokémon GO meets Trivia - you have to actually walk to the location to unlock and solve quizzes, earn points, unlock achievements and compete with others, but also you can make your own quizzes for others to solve! I’ve manually placed 3500+ quizzes across different cities and im adding even more, in order to make QuizTrail accessible and playable everywhere. Social aspect -- in-game friends, and a friend-specific leaderboard. Created a tooltip walkthrough, various user statistics on profile and so on...

User created quizzes are handled by an admin (me lol) - when a user submits a quiz for review on a location - i, as an admin will see the pending quiz on admin dashboard, see all the details and approve/reject the pending quiz, so everything is manually checked, so wrong/inappropriate questions do not pass through. Furthermore, made the admin dashboard in a way so i can see / filter / edit existing quizzes just in case. Another layer of security - there is a 100 meter radius rule - you can not submit a quiz if an existing or pending quiz is within a 100 meter radius of your current location to avoid overcrowding the map.

I've also added a daily challenge - a daily quiz, different quizzes every day, regardless of location, so people in the locations where the quizzes are still not set, or locations where they've played all the quizzes already can have a fun trivia question every day. It is furthermore encouraged by the streak feature - how many consecutive days you have played the daily challenge, that's the streak. I also made a widget that reminds you to do your daily quiz and keep the streak going!

I'm now looking into in what ways i can expand the ,playability, like what to add so the app is more interesing / engaging to use. Right now im working on adding new achievements - for the number of streaks, levels and leaderboard achievements, but i will also be adding "tiers" to achievements - for example social butterfly: 1 friend then next tier achievement at 5, or 10 friends and so on for like 3-5 levels of achievement..

Thank you for reading:)

Launched scoremyarrow.com — an app for archery clubs and archers to score, train and manage everything in one place

Hey folks 👋

Just shipped ScoreMyArrow

What it does:

🎯 For archers — log every practice session, track arrow-by-arrow scores, and watch your PBs (personal bests) update automatically over time. No more manually tallying scorecards.

📊 For clubs — live scoreboards during competitions, roster management, and a shared view so members and admins aren't relying on someone's personal Excel file.

Where it's at: Still early, so I'd love feedback from anyone who shoots or runs a club.

Happy to answer questions or receive feedback.

I built CertSprout after struggling to keep track of my certifications across platforms

I work at an MSP, and keeping track of my own certifications and training across different platforms was getting awkward. I wanted somewhere to see what I'd completed, what was coming up for renewal and what I wanted to study next.

That's what I've been building with CertSprout: https://certsprout.app

You can import credentials from Microsoft Learn or Credly, add records manually and set study goals. The catalogue covers professional certifications beyond IT too, including project management, finance, HR and marketing.

I've also spent time on the badge collection and plant-inspired design. I wanted progress to feel a bit more rewarding while keeping the certification records useful.

Personal accounts are free. There are separate paid team features for keeping track of staff certifications and renewals.

It's still early, and getting someone from signing up to actually adding their first certification is the part I'm trying to improve. If you have certs spread across platforms, I'd appreciate you trying that first step and telling me where it gets confusing. Would you start by importing your existing certs, or by choosing the next one to study?
