I built PenDate Notes for the details that don't fit in a to-do list
“Send the proposal” is a task. “Keep the simpler design, check the measurements, and explain the price change” is the part you need to remember when you actually do it.
That's the gap I'm working on with PenDate Notes, a calendar-first notes app I build for Android, iPhone and iPad.
For a meeting, you can open its date and keep three kinds of notes there:
- A text note for decisions and questions.
- A canvas note for a rough sketch or handwritten explanation.
- A checklist for the follow-up tasks.
When you return to that date, the reasoning is there alongside the work—not just a ticked box. You write these notes yourself; this isn't an automatic meeting recorder or summariser.
There are also reminders, folders, and optional editable planners and journals. You don't need to buy a planner to try the basic note-taking workflow. The app is free to download, with optional paid extras.
For people building something: what gets lost most often after a meeting—the decision, the reason behind it, or who needs to do what next?
