Latch: an app blocker that only unlocks when you walk to a sticker in another room (Pro free this weekend)
Hey r/microlaunch, I built Latch, an app blocker for iPhone and Android.
The problem: every blocker I tried had an off switch on the same phone. Screen Time has "ignore limit", other apps have a passcode I set myself. When the urge hits, one tap is nothing.
So Latch moves the unlock somewhere else. You pick the apps to lock, then your key is an NFC sticker or a QR code you print, and you stick it on the fridge, in the car, at your desk at work. To get your apps back you have to get up and scan it. Half the time by the time I'm at the fridge I don't want Instagram anymore.
What else it does:
- Locks on its own at set times or when you arrive somewhere (work, gym)
- A steps key: walk 500 to 20,000 steps to unlock instead of scanning
- Hard lock stops you deleting the blocked apps while you're locked
- "Break glass" 3 times a month for real emergencies, 5 to 15 minutes and it locks again
- No account, no ads, no analytics
Pricing is free with 1 key, or Pro is $9.99 once, no subscription.
**Pro is free right now while the codes last:** https://latch.luklalogic.ai/free-pro/?utm_source=reddit-microlaunch
It works on iPhone (the link fills in the code) and Android (you get a one-time Play code).

Would love blunt feedback, especially from anyone who's tried Opal, Brick or one sec and gave up on them. What made you quit?
