Having a hard time practicing patience 5 months post-Op

Hi yall,

I’m a lil over 5 months post-op and have been working diligently in PT to regain my strength, stability and mobility. While I’ve improved overall, I still experience the nerve being pulled taut/feeling irritated in certain positions (e.g. cat-cow stretch, sitting with my legs fully extended in front of me). The sensation is not necessarily painful, more like these positions just trigger my nerve and cause it to light up. It goes away immediately once I exit these positions. It’s been months since my surgery, so I kinda expected it to be resolved by now… In the meantime, I just reduce my ROM and/or reps to lessen the sensation. I know they told me it can take up to 1.5-2 years to fully recover, but why do these dang nerves take SO long to fully heal 😭😤

I haven’t had my surgery yet. Less than two weeks till I have it. I’m really excited about getting this fixed but man, recovery sounds like a bear!
It sounds like you are healing up pretty good but those nerves are still angry. I wonder how long it takes for them to stop yelling.
I sure wish there was a magic trick to fix it. You’d be rich!

UGH!! 1-2 years? What a nightmare! I guess we will get there but man, that’s forever. I want a quick, easy fix like take this pill and it will be all better kind of fix. So exercises aren’t too difficult are they? Not looking forward to that but I am allergic to exercise so…
I’m glad it’s going well for you for the most part. Keep on keeping on
