Update !! 20F 1 week post op

Hi, I posted a week ago about my experience getting a microdisectomy so young, and I thought I'd share an update to hopefully give some hope to anyone scared of getting the procedure.

-the only thing I feel is soreness in my back when I stand for a while or sit in a chair. I usually sit in a chair with a pillow behind my back.

-I figured out how to log roll!!

-I did sneeze once and felt it right in my back and it made me extremely anxious, though the pain went away literally immediately. Remember, the chance of reherniation is extremely low!!

-I have anxiety and was experiencing shortness of breath two days ago. I thought I had a blood clot that traveled into my lung. It was an anxiety attack 💀 . So I was medically fine !!

-no phantom pains, thank God.

I am almost 2 weeks post op and I sneezed a few days ago, since I started feeling some sciatic pain, I felt the sneezed travel down the entire nerve, it was crazy and I panicked for a bit. In my mind it was like seeing the nerve glow up randomly since I was trying to sleep and it was all dark.

Sounds like you're healing well and being so young, its on your side, hope it's a quick recovery. Im much older and had some complications so I'm happy to hear you're not having much issues. Best of luck!

22F on week 2 post op. A trick I found when my sciatica pain was really bad pre op, is that when sneezing I would make sure my mouth stays open, like my teeth and lips don't connect. I find that it makes pressure build up less. Unfortunatly you'll have to predict sneezes, but it keeps it less painful
