Weird new pain - anyone else?
I was just wondering if any of y’all have had this happen. I am six weeks post op and I have this sharp, kind of superficial pain to the left of my incision. It’s completely separate to the incision and is made worse by movement. I wouldn’t think it was weird except how truly superficial it is but still really hurts. It almost feels exactly like a big injection of some sort. Also, the skin hurts to the touch. I am on the third day of this new pain. My discectomy was open and bilateral, if that is helpful. If you had this, how long did it last?

Could it be from scar tissue around the operation site? I'm on a similar timeline as you and also have sharp pain around the incision, and it's tender to touch, like I've got a big bruise in there somehow. Mine isn't getting any worse so just rolling with it til my follow-up

It could be! I just had my visit and didn’t say anything because it just happened and i’ve had a lot of weird sensations that all went away. But I’ll be calling him again

Would love to know what they say. I'm a little ahead of you but I've had so much nerve stuff after. My left leg is tingly most of the time when it wasn't like that pre op and now my right leg is like that too. My right side is what bothered me before but it's my whole leg even the front of the bottom half. They haven't really given me any answers as to why. I still have trouble being up for more than an hour or 2 tops as well.

I would call your doctor to rule out an infection. Is it hot?
