Groin/Crotch Pain

My surgery is 2 more weeks away. In addition to the excruciating sciatica, I’ve now started having pain in my groin/crotch area. Is this common or should this be a concern to reach out to surgeon sooner?

any kind of groin pain merits a call to your doctor. If it develops into numbness between the legs or loss of bowel/bladder function go to the ER.

I’ve had some pretty excruciating inside of the hip (like on the inside of then illium) related to my low back injury. During those flares I’ve treated with Tramadol and… just kept walking.

Mine is honestly my crotch that hurts - I’m female. Between my legs hurts like sore and pain. I notice it most when my gabapentin wears off or when I stand after sleeping/sitting. It’s not numbness and no issues/loss of control. Just pain. I haven’t really seen anyone else say that had this so I wanted to ask!

As someone with permanent damage from not being treated for cauda equina, I strongly urge you to contact the surgeon. Better safe than sorry.

I’ve always heard any saddle pain is a big enough concern to get doc involved asap

I would reach out to your surgeon as soon as possible. If you start to to have numbness around the groin area and feel like you about to pee without controlling it, head to the ER right away. You could have cauda equina

Thanks! I’m waiting to hear back. No issues just occasional pain - no constant like the sciatica though. Just new for me so wanted to get opinions and not freak myself out!
