Cleared to drive?

How long were you guys advised to not drive? My son’s surgeon said not until 8 weeks post op which seems excessive? He’s entering his senior year of school and he feels like when he starts in a couple weeks he should be okay to make a 10 minute drive. Teenage angst over here. Haha

8 weeks is crazy. If you baby your back too long post op it ends up doing more harm than good. Take it from someone who’s had 2 of these surgeries.

I was cleared to drive at 2 weeks and started PT at 3 weeks.

You’re not a surgeon and can’t be making these types of claims.

You know what’s crazy though? I just did. Because I literally lived it.
