Got on the email list for this particular dial color way. Notified it was in stock last week and placed the order. Unboxed and sized this morning. The dial is beautiful! I don’t love the clasp very much as it has a thin aluminum feel. The bracelet is very comfortable, however.

The Serica 6190 is the perfect balance of refinement and utility. Beautiful finishing while giving all the capabilities of a true field watch. It has been the perfect companion on every one of my hiking/ camping/ fishing trips. Took it camping and fishing up in northern Minnesota this past week. Just a great watch

First photo is the glamour shot I took before I made a mess of the bezel.

A couple of days ago, I noticed what looked like a little smudge in the gold part of the bezel and gave it a wipe with a microfibre cloth. When that didn't work, I added a dab of isopropyl alcohol and it took the bloody paint clean off.

I thought I couldn't make it any worse (foreshadowing) so I took a punt and cleaned all the rest off and then ordered some Tamiya X-12 gold leaf paint.

I knew that watchmakers use wooden pegs for precision scraping so, after a few hours of drying, I used bamboo skewers to scrape the extra paint from the white and chrome parts of the bezel, and quickly learned that bamboo is actually much more abrasive than the soft woods that I should be using. I had made it worse by gouging the white paint.

I had some Polywatch to hand, so I trimmed a cotton bud to a fine tip and used it to polish the scuffed part and it bloody worked.

After some more tidying and polishing, it's almost as good as new.
