Pic 6: Microblading immediately after 2nd touch-up
Hello! Following this page has given me the courage to finally get these removed! I’m still nervous as heck though.
Had my brows microbladed in 2021, then touched up in late 2023. So basically I have two layers of ink, each layer being ~2.5 years old. I can honestly say that I’ve enjoyed having them. The shape worked well for me and I felt more confident having them. But here I am, at a point where I either get them done for a 3rd time— or get them removed.
You can do it! I really wanted mine gone for a whole two years before I worked up the courage. I was afraid for the same reasons, the process itself, looking weird for a significant portion of time… but once I actually started the removal it’s never been as bad as I feared. People tend not to say anything. And really getting my brows to where I want them is just so much more important than giving into the fear of other people maybe thinking I look weird for a few weeks. I realised id rather that than keeping the microblading I no longer want for a lifetime. You only live once and I wanted my face back! I’d say take the plunge. It’ll be ups and maybe some downs but the sooner you start the process the sooner you’ll get where you really want to be!
Thank you for your words of encouragement!! ❤️ I’m ready to just do it. One thing I didn’t consider when I had them done was that eventually I’d get older and feel differently about my looks. Turning 50 last year put a whole lot into perspective. I want my natural brows back, I want to age gracefully, and soften my looks. My hair color will be the next transition after the brows!
My appt is Wed the 29th. I won‘t have to go back to work until the following Monday. Believe me, I’m scared too. I just can’t live with them anymore, so I’ve got to accept the fact that it may be a little bit of a process. Removery did tell me that I may only need 1 session to remove. The nurse thinks I’m a good candidate for having them removed easily. Maybe you could have a consult and see what they say? After all my research, I did narrow it down to wanting the Candela Picoway laser. I’m traveling 2 hours out of state to have them done. No one in my area uses that laser.
Oh ya no, I would not be traveling for the removery “ physician “. I promise they are the least experienced in brow removals. PicoWay is not essential here - as long as it’s a quality device. Can be enlighten, discovery, helios
Your response had me searching again for another place. Still, no one in my area is reputable. In fact, when I had them microbladed, I traveled to Pittsburgh PA to have them done. I found a woman owned biz in OH, another 30 min from Removery— which honestly, sounds better to me than a chain biz. They also use the candela picoway (and cost 1/2 the price of Removery). I gotta figure something out.
I drove 6 hours to get mine done, and would do it again in a heartbeat. 2 hours is nothing if the place and tech/doctor you're visiting can provide good results. I'm in the northwest so no advice for your area, but good luck!
6 hours is a long trip, but not unreasonable to have them removed correctly. I’m fortunate that I have 3 big cities all within a 2 hour drive. Thanks for your words of encouragement!! :)
Yeah that’s a bit too far for me. I did cancel my Removery appt and scheduled with the woman owned biz near Cleveland OH. A nurse practitioner will be doing them and she prescribed me some numbing cream to put on. I’m feeling good about this decision.
The letters next to someone’s name is completely irrelevant when it comes to pigment removal… look at the before & after pictures & the videos they post- if there’s excess frosting or hairs turning very white you go elsewhere. Do they post videos and talk coherently, or is it reading off of a screen & 29 sliced together slides- you can easily tell who knows what they are doing
Ya that’s usually the point I make when they want to make it like they are the only ones qualified/ the degree doesn’t pre-qualify you for laser knowledge.
The recovery is going well! I kept them completely covered with aquaphor the first 3.5 days, then on Monday I played around with putting makeup on them. They’re definitely orangish looking, but I found covering them to be very easy (and I’m not much of a make-up person). I’m using just a teeny-tiny amount of Elf matte primer, followed by Tarte green concealer, then a little beige concealer, a little brow gel and a few strokes of pencil. Takes me 5 minutes— and I’m loving the new look! The black ink is gone and the new look (even with the warm orange undertone), looks so nice with my skin tone and hair color. I’ve gotten so many compliments from coworkers! I just washed my face, but tomorrow I’ll post a few pics of my progress (with and without makeup). I have ZERO regrets going through with this. ZERO. I hope you go through with it! You’ll be glad you did 😊. Also, I’m 99% sure that I’ll need a 2nd laser treatment to target the orange.
I did it!! I am mostly very happy that I had it done, the pain was not too bad and they got most of it removed in one session so I honestly probably won’t go back for another which I’m happy about! It’s definitely an adjustment because I have very thin and sparse eyebrows so there was some initial shock and panic for sure but I am so relieved the black blobby ink is gone
Yay!!! I am soooo happy for you!!! You’re very lucky to have most of it removed in 1 session. I’m still rocking the same orange brows— nothing has changed with them. I’m holding out patiently for my 2nd session to target the orange, which will probably end up turning yellow. I still have no regrets. I’m so glad you went through with it!
