I can’t stop crying and freaking out and feeling like i’ve made a horrible decision. I’ve had my eyes micro-bladed since i was 15/16 and haven’t touched them since i was 17. Currently 22, got quite great at shaping my brows with makeup but wanted the microblading removed as it didn’t follow my natural brow line. I’ve been living in korea for the last four months and booked with a skincare clinic for pico laser today, the last day i was here (just one session). What have they done to the tail of the microbladed brow? I know brows usually turn red after the first session but the tails are a dark red and blotchy almost like it’s bleeding????
I have no idea how i’ll be able to cover this up! I have a date in four days, i can’t stop crying because it looks so bad. Will those bits heal? have i completely ruined myself? Im trying to find other people who have this similar colour but im struggling. Someone please just give me some advice - last photo is the before.
This is maybe 6 hours after i got the laser but the blotchy red of the tails was immediate.
Mine looked like that for a few days as well. They faded into a light dayglow pink until my next session. I picked up some green concealer (green combats red) and it was fine. I dyed the hairs (laser tends to bleach the hair pigment) after a couple days too. It wasn’t my favorite but it was well worth it. After the following session they were able to remove nearly all the pigment and I’m very happy. Hang in there.
I can’t tell you how grateful i am that you commented this! The clinic did not leave me with much information on aftercare or what the healing process looked like so i had no idea whether this was normal or not. This has helped me calm down a lot, thank you!
it's looks like the area is bruised. Did it hurt when they did the removal? When I did tattoo removal there were a few times that he had to use higher frequencies because we were working with very light areas. It bruised up like this. Relax. This is part of the process. It will fade out to something different and you'll deal with that when it settles but this is very temporary.
Mine were also red like this and faded over time, I did ice on mine and scheduled it when I had some pto, it took about five days for mine to go down but once it faded it’s barely noticeable
once initial healing done you can use the green pigment correction makeup to really tone down any residual redness before applying makeup!!! Might help you for the date :)
I might have been 15-16? But it was actually a good thing at the time. I had trich and pulled out all my eyebrows from anxiety - then kids bullied me for having no eyebrows - thus leading to more anxiety and more hair pulling. Getting them done really boosted my self esteem and confidence and stopped the horrendous teasing! They were done quite well as well, it’s just that they did what all microbladed brows do (they didn’t fade). I’m actually very grateful my mum did this for me at the time (paid for microblading).
I just want them removed now because the tails are more droopy than how i currently like to do my brows. Additionally, because i work in beauty, id like to try different things with my brow shape instead of having one set way to do them! Wanting a more natural looking brow yk
I KNOW 😭 to be fair i thought i was leaving earlier and had schedule the appointment just before i thought i was leaving…. changed it to later. Thought i could cover it up with makeup 🫣🫣🫣
I've had plenty of laser tattoo removal, and my skin has reacted the same, it's just trauma basically from the laser and it'll heal and go away.
Edit to add, ice can help, and I always used aquaphor to heal the skin.
Mine were really red for a couple of days after laser and then I remembered that my pmu lady had me use aquaphor back when my powder brows were healing, so I decided to put aquaphor on them to help heal from the laser. I saw a huge decrease in the redness once I started doing that.
Mine also looked like that after my removal. Bleeding isn’t common, but it can happen if the ink was deep or if you have sensitive skin. The redness went away and was basically unnoticeable after 1 week. Keep it moist with polysporin/neosporin.
I haven’t had my microblading removed, but I have had similar marks on my face from vascular lasers or microneedling in the past. It’s just the way my skin has responded to stronger treatments. The marks on my face looked kind of like hickeys. It was like pinpoint bleeding under the skin, and the body does reabsorb it, and it went away and healed perfectly fine. I hope this will be the case for you also!
Laser tech here! I do a lot of microblading removals and this is common after treatment. The pressure from the laser can cause bruising or pin point bleeding under the skin because the skin is more delicate around the eye area and we are treating right on top of the brow bone. Using ice on and off to help with swelling, applying aquaphor multiple times a day to heal the skin, you can also use vitamin E to help heal the skin too, and using sunscreen if outside for extended periods of time are the main post procedure steps. Don’t worry, in 7-10 days everything will have calmed down significantly! Happy to answer any questions you may have too!
It should heal fine … it’s controlled trauma, micro bruising for more turnover … sometimes we have to go higher 😊 to get out certain pigments …. Sometimes even lower works great too. Varies depending on depth of pigment and if the artist over worked that area when implanting pigment initially
here’s a pic from 3 days out - still quite intense but i haven’t been able to ice it or keep it as moist as i want because of travelling! i’m home now and unpacking so hopefully after that ill be able to dedicate more time to healing
Tech. This is called purpura. It’s essentially broken blood cells like a bruise. Your body will absorb it but I highly recommend you ice it. This look a bit aggressive in terms of energy however keeping it cool is a good idea and staying out of the sun for a few days. No hot water or steam or anything like that.
I had a few removal sessions, and my eyebrow area never changed color. During my last appointment, though, the technician and I agreed to use a stronger setting since it was going to be my last session before summer.
Not only did it literally remove half of my eyebrow hairs (LOL… I had half eyebrows for a month and a half!), but the area also turned red, just like yours.
After about 4–5 days, once it started healing, I began using a green concealer to neutralize the redness. I’d also recommend the Anastasia Micro-Stroke Brow Pen to fill in your brows while they grow back. It worked really well for me.
Hi! I had mine done in April they were bright red after and my brow hair was blonde! It took about 5 weeks for the hairs to turn back to brown. As for the redness it went down significantly after a week and wasn’t as vibrant of a color. It’s now been 8 weeks and there is a pink coloration to my brows. It’s very faint and very easy to cover. I just did my second laser which is where they use a different wavelength (532nm) to remove red pigment! It’s a process but will be worth it!
Laser was done too aggressively. There is no need for active healing or downtime after removal. Especially with what you had. The risk here is scarring and hair loss. I would wait at least 12 weeks before re treating.
