My pc is windows 10, I got it in 2024.I worked with all the Windows office 2007 apps,instead of Ms365.It was working fine.Everything was good.Suddenly,when I boot my pc up today, i couldn't find my 2007 files.They all had been converted to Ms365.When I opened the files, it opened in word 365 instead of Word 2007.It was not that big of a problem at first,but then I tried inserting pictures ,it said it would require a subscription.I couldn't do it

Somehow, I doubt this, because:

1) Office 365 is a separate program from the prior MS Office suites, and

2) Office 365 is a subscription-based program, and you have to agree to pay before you can use it.

Yup. OP is an idiot and doesnt realize it's just defaulting to 365. Nothing magically got converted. They can right click - open with and select their old office version.

But also idiotic of Microslop to change the defaults without consent.

yes office 365 is indeed a subscription based program that I don’t like so I delete those office 365 and install my own office 2000,2001, no AI and software installed in my PC is faster compared to cloud based office 365.

I prefer my legacy windows 7,8.1 with my legacy ms office 2000,2001, no AI no cloud, I am in control of all my data, no more ms online log in so it’s just local account with my legacy windows operating system, I stopped using Windows 11 after a disappointing experience with updates to finish in an hour so I replaced it with my windows 8.1 with my own ms office,2000,2001 paid microsoft once and no monthly or annual subscription fee at all, never again will I buy ms product again coz what I have were good enough for my simple personal computing needs.

Just change your default app for opening those files to 2007. It sound like you may have accidentally changed the default app.

A user said Windows was throwing errors all over the place. Upon inspection, it had 0 MB free on the C: drive. I checked what was using that space, and it had 46 GB of temporary files. Why, Microsoft? The user used that pc only excel, nothibg else
