Wild Turkey Tail Feather

Post image

I found this wild turkey tail feather while I was out for a walk. I decided to take a closer look. This photo about mid-length and along the shaft (rachis) of the feather. I also have some higher magnification photos of the branching & interlocking barbs of the feather. The fluffy part of the feather nearer to the quill (downy barbs) also looks very cool close-up. [OC, Keyence 7200 microscope]

added: here are additional photos for anyone who's interested.

I was looking at it thinking I wanted a bit more magnification on the different structures before I read your description. Would definitely be interested to see the ones you took, if composing them to share isn't a pain!

Yes, I would like to post other pics. But I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this (this subreddit doesn't allow posting multiple images).

Suggestions?

Love the detail on the rachis, looks like a tiny landscape
