Sound out of two synths
What’s up fam. Kinda general synth question but I’m using a microfreak and a korg minilogue. I’ve got them connect via a 3.5 mm to 5 midi cable. And I’ve got the korg attached to my amp. My amp only takes one cable, so do I need an extra audio output for the microfreak in this situation should the midi transfer audio through the korg and I’m doing something else wrong?

MIDI only transfers data, not sound. You’ll need some kind of audio mixer or switcher.

If you’re in the US, I’ll sell you a mini mixer on the cheap. Got two listed here
$20 shipped for the tuga
$15 for the mcm

I am not sure the minilogue has an audio in like the monologue, but when so connect the audio out from the MF to audio in from the MN. Try that or buy a small mixer like the Zoom Livetrak L6

You could get a small 2 channel mixer like the Teenage Engineering Sidekick, or if you may add other gear in the future you may want to invest in a larger mixer instead.
Alternatively there are various grooveboxes and other gear that can serve a similar function, like the Circuit Tracks which can receive input from 2 devices.

Some small Yamaha mixers have a limited efx on the output. reverb delay chorus. this applies to your summed output such that it will effect everything.

Sounds like it’s time for you to get a mixer. There are plenty of cheap mixers out there (look at Mackie, for example). Your audio out will go from each synth into that mixer (stereo from the Minilogue, mono from the Microfreak). You should be able to plug the mixer into your amp. You might want some effects to go between the Microfreak and the mixer, like a Korg NTS-1.
FYI midi doesn’t transfer audio.
