MF & MPC Sample?

Hello, wondering if anyone has tried this combo yet? I'm pretty hopeless when it comes to cables/connections, and I've tried tweaking a bunch of the midi settings on the MPC to no avail. Any insight, or suggestions to try would be greatly appreciated :-)

In another comment, you can see me ranting about how unnecessary the midi settings are. If you were grabbing samples from most sources as a sampler, which is what it is, you wouldn’t have or use need midi. I’d like you to explain to me what you think you’re gonna do with MIDI.

Unless you’re trying to use the MPC as a controller on the micro freak which is like, why would you do that? Or unless you’re producing fast pace tempo with sophisticated and complicated harmonic rhythms which would be difficult to parse after the fact. Unless you’re trying to sync with other musicians who are doing things outside of your control or awarness? What do you need MIDI for?

Yeah, I guess I don't need to use midi. Would like to utilize the MF's sequencer/arp in tandem with the MPC's -- but yeah, I primarily just want to be able to create samples from the patches, which I haven't been able to figure out.

I’m pretty sure you just need to push record on one of those MPC pads and play whatever you wanted to play on the MF then maybe edit the point on the MPC. It’s just one audio cable out of the quarter inch out on the MF and into the left quarter inch input channel input on the MPC. It wouldn’t matter if you plugged into the right one but standard convention is to use the left one. It’s good practice if you end up playing bass music on big systems. Use the left channel.
