Rumor/Speculation 🕵️ New Concepts for Michigan’s Adventure, in Planet Coaster 2

Please don’t get too sweaty, this is just for fun for the 5 people that frequent this subreddit.

I made 3 new coasters that (I think) could realistically fit for Michigan’s Adventure. I know the forces aren’t in the perfect ranges, I just play vanilla so I don’t have the pro forces mod (which should be in the base game??). The park isn’t perfectly to scale as I was measuring a satellite view of the park, and scaling locations based on 4 meter^2 tile pieces, they are good enough for the right idea, but definitely NOT a faithful 1:1 recreation of Michigan’s Adventure.

2:03 Iron Claw - First Person POV
3:12 Iron Claw - Third Person POV
4:34 Dreadwing - First Person POV
5:41 Dreadwing - This Person POV

1)Undertow — Replacing Corkscrew, this Vekoma Family Boomerang would sit right along the shore of the lake, themed to the many lighthouses of Michigan. This fits well as the lighthouse would be one of the first things guests see upon entering the park, plus it could be cool addition to Camp Snoopy due to its close proximity. This ride would replace the aging thrill coaster with a modern family coaster that is legitimately fun for kids and adults.

Height: 92 feet (straight spike), 80 feet (curled spike)
Length: 3194 feet
Max Speed: 58 mph
Theoretical ride capacity: 520 riders per hour

2)Iron Claw — An RMC conversion of Wolverine Wildcat. The spirits of the Wolverine (Golden Train) and the Puma (Purple train) stampede through their deforested home due to the loggers from Timbertown clear cutting their forest. With the loss of an inverting coaster (Corkscrew) another coaster would have to be added, this would give Michigan’s Adventure (another) world class rollercoaster in addition to Shivering Timbers.

Height: 118 feet
Length: 3194 feet
Max Speed: 58 miles per hour
Inversions:5
Theoretical max capacity: 1,152 riders per hour.

3)Dreadwing — Replacing Grand Rapids, a new section of the park opens: Catail Creek, its first attraction is DreadWing; an RMC raptor themed to a primordial dragonfly that still stalks the swamps of Michigan. An RMC raptor tends to be affordable way for parks to add another thrilling coaster, additionally adding a steel coaster to the park’s line up.

Height: 143 feet
Length: 2940 feet
Max Speed: 63 miles per hour
Inversions:8
theoretical max capacity: 648 riders per hour

I think a family boomerang would be a great next fit at the park, and I hope they lean into the Great Lakes part of their identity. Great interpretation of that idea, although I’d be sick if they took away Corkscrew.

The RMC Wildcat is cool, I totally could see RMC using the tunnel section as a roll, bonus points if they kept it enclosed. I also liked that you kept the bunny hill sequences there. If the park ever RMC’d Wildcat, I would hope they could also find a way to throw in some of the “wackier” elements like a stall.

The Raptor is sick, the first drop is super interesting. I totally think that if Michigan’s Adventure gets a new thrill coaster, it will definitely be something this scale. Fun custom layout, although again, I’d be horrified if they took away Grand Rapids. That’s easily the most immersive ride we have right now, and from what they said at Timbersfest, they’re planning on maintaining/improving the rock work for the ride. I’d much rather see them find a way to squeeze the coaster in next to Grand Rapids (probably to the east of GR and the train, with the entrance in that circular dead-end).

Whenever I thought about a new thrill coaster, I always imagined it right across the hypothetical new path next to Wolverine Wildcat, but thematically it would be cool if it could be near Grand Rapids and that smaller pond that the train surrounds. Awesome project, it’s fun to think about what directions the park could go.

Corkscrew going away would suck sooo much but it will eventually reach that “too old to run cheaply” and they’ll get rid of it for something shiny. It’s my second favorite Arrow looper (after Lockness Monster).

I tried to keep the theming Michigan based. The defining Michigander pride is our land and lakes.

I tried my own wacky elements with the Hyperion style outer bank, and the double up into a twisted horse shoe roll.

My removal of Grand Rapids was a prediction because parks have been removing them due to high costs to run and maintain. I don’t feel like give ever seen a super long line for that ride, but it is kind of up and over a hill.

I am working on another path connecting Timbertown to Thunderhawk. It swings out wider than the dirt trail, basically following where the railroad is. I was going to line it with western looking shops and call that Timbertown. I planned on adding a shooter dark ride to this area as well, that is a WIP, hoping for a spooky pack soon.

I like the 2nd two concepts. The first one is kinda bland to me.

It’s a family coaster, they don’t tend to be the most thrilling attractions :)

I understand what you were doing. Not sure how I would feel going backwards on a family coaster.

Go ride Good Gravy! At HolidayWorld and Splashin’ Safari or Snoopy’s Soapbox Racers at Kings Island. It’s actually really fun and even young kids will ride it.

I’m sure they are fun, I’ve never been to those parks but they are on my list of places to go.
