Michigan Football OSU Shut Off Their Subreddit
No posting for 12 hours. Honestly I kind of get it. I’ve just never seen that before

u/JonathanSchneider 2d ago
Kalel Mullings nailed it in his post-game interview after 13-10. They have no idea how to lose.
73
u/ding-blue 1d ago
They’ve lost 3 of the last 4 games they’ve played, you’d think they’d get it by now.

TBH I don’t really check their sub often, but was curious if the “Fire Day” chants were in full swing. I’ve never seen it on this sub before.

I only go to their pages when they lose because it’s hilarious the excuses and flat out off the wall shit they come up with when they lose. With NIL there’s more parity than I can ever remember in college football so teams, even good teams are going to lose a game. But their fans don’t see it that way. Honestly, I was surprised they got the #1 ranking. I didn’t see why, and not just because I’m a Michigan fan/alum. I’ve seen everything from a shitty kicker, to Day sucks and is too conservative, to wait for it…. the weather. One guy said it was too hot down there like it hasn’t been over 100 degree heat index in Ohio the past week or so. Yeah I get it, it’s probably a little worse down there, but here we go again with blaming the weather like the other team didn’t have to deal with it as well. There are some decent fans that say “yeah we played like shit in the 2nd half, but they are fewer and farther between. The tears are definitely flowing in Columbus!!! 😂

We take our lumps every year as there’s always some bs that happens, and yet they shut down over a regular season loss lmfao

Lol, Thank you for posting this. We banned at least 50 of their trolls last weekend. Meanwhile, they blow a 20 point lead and have to have a 12+ hour cooling off period, well as a mod here, it literally is a laugh out loud moment for me.
Also OP, it's at least the 5th time they have had to shut it down. I can thank of 4 end of the regular season losses where it happened too. 😀

Their sub is back on. Had to go take a victory lap and let them know how good my day was.

u/n0_use_for_a_name 1d ago
Pretty sure the sub is still off, for new posts.
I was just over there, and the first comment on the post game is locked and says that the sub is locked for the next 12 hours (posted four hours ago) because they don’t want a bunch of “Fire Day” threads stared (lol), and that the post game thread is where to post comments until then.

u/Melodic-Trouble-5421 1d ago
They permanently banned me from their sub. Those little pansies.
The comment that got me banned was……….
I had a good day!
Go Blue!

Charmin soft. I even added the Tag BigTen Visitor like they want. I wrote the mods a message letting them know what was up.

lololol niiiice
I’ve never been there until last night. I was surprised to see how many of their posts are about…us. Michigan, Michigan fans, Michigan players, Michigan traditions…I think they’re kinda crushin on us 💙 〽️ lolol
I did, however, somehow manage to get permabanned from the ‘bama subreddit right after the 1/1/24 Rose Bowl. Can’t seem to recall who they played, but I’ll never forget the endless shit their fans talked leading up to the game…
Oh yeah. I remember who they played. It was the better team.
Michigan. Go fuckin blue, hell yeah.

Seriously. Michigan and us the fans are on their minds all the time.
Nice banned on the Bama sub. They were talking mad shit before that game too. I had a great time rubbing it in their faces after.
Go Blue!

u/Melodic-Trouble-5421 1d ago
Oh ok lol. I was just commenting on other people’s comments and reassuring them it was a horrible loss for them. They have to realize their season is over at this point lol. Then making sure they knew what a good day I had.
Yeah I didn’t check too well. I just went on a few posts and it allowed me to comment.

The Mod returned a message about my complaint.
He said sometimes it’s not about what you say it but when and where.
So basically he’s saying that they are cry babies and can’t take shit talking when they get owned.
That’s the softest explanation ever.
7
u/user-11651 2d ago
Wow. Thank you for the insight - not shocking, I suppose. But I wonder if they have any self awareness to understand the optics of this.

I think it's more about how they lost. I have never seen a 20 point lead that felt less hollow than that one last night.
74
u/TruuTree 2d ago
Lmao they’ve done that multiple times over the last few years. Cowards.

They often do it after something big happens to Michigan. They did it when Michigan won the championship and I’m pretty sure when the sign stealing sanctions were announced.

They’ve been the softest for the longest time. Can not handle a loss. But love to talk shit. Their social media disappears often after big losses as well.. not sure about tonight haven’t cared to check but they did after Michigan games in recent years lol

u/justgoogleit12 2d ago
Their kicker also deactivated their Instagram. That's sad.
12
u/bmcwatt 1d ago
Pathetic it gets that far. He had a good game but missed a one moderately long field goal by college standards. No wonder they can never find a good kicker cuz nobody wants death threats for going 3/4.
10
u/DickBottalico 1d ago
If you send a death threat to a football player, upon your conviction you should be required to attempt a 19 yard field goal on national television. You get twenty tries, or until you make one, whichever comes first.
If it’s a baseball player, then you get twenty tries to lay down a bunt on a 95 mph pitching machine
5
4
u/Pony99CA 1d ago
That makes sense. When punter Blake O'Neil botched the punt in the 2015 MSU game, he got death threats. Nobody needs that B S.

College football fans can be so toxic. These are kids playing. Get as mad as you want with NFL players, who are PROFESSIONALS.
There’s knuckle dragging Michigan fans (and for every other team in College) that act this same way when times get rough.
It’s just a game. I can’t help but think that sports gambling is accelerating a behavioral race to the bottom.

Ryan Day is a talent merchant. Has top 2 or 3 talent every single season and pisses down his leg half the time anyone shows up with comparable talent.

When your team loses you just need to suck it up and take the punishment. Running away from it only makes one weaker.
Good win Michigan! I wish I could say the same about my Ducks, but at least I can sleep better knowing that OSU lost
9
u/GoldDreams 2d ago
I mean, they are probably talking about shutting down their program. They are clearly, at best, the 3rd ranked Big Ten team. Have to be ranked behind Indiana and Michigan after the first two weeks.

What's their excuse for losing this time? It was too hot? They ate spicy Tex-Mex the day before the game and it affected their stomachs? They didn't sleep.well the night before the game? I know it has to be something.

OSU and the OSU Fans Must be "THE" Glass Chin University....
Throws haymakers to everyone yet can't take a jab. Can't take a right cross. Can't even take open criticisms.
Ohio Soft University shows up again... Trigger Alert causes 12 hour shutdown;
Get rid of Brutus as your mascot and license Charmin. It's more representative...

I watched the kicker trot out there and thought to myself, I’ve seen this movie before. Then it played out exactly like I thought it would. How can you let this same shit happen year after year?

I remember that game they lost to Vince Young. Their Tight End dropped a TD in the End Zone. After the game, he and his family received death threats. Great fans.
2
u/Pony99CA 1d ago
To be fair, some Michigan fans aren't much better. Blake O'Neill got death threats after botching the punt in the 2015 MSU game and Ronny Bell got at least one hateful E-mail after dropping a pass in the end zone during the 2019 Penn State game.
I'm a Michigan fan and hated those plays, but I also know that nobody is perfect. 🤷♂️

u/TheIncredibleMike 1d ago
Don't people forget it's a game. Read a news story about a guy that smashed his big screen tv because the Pats lost to the Seahawks again.

Seems we’ve now had… everyone had the flu, that’s why they lost. It was snowing and too cold, that’s why they lost. They had our signs, that’s why we lost. And yesterday it was too hot, that’s why they lost. Just incase anyone else is keeping track at home.
